SSCC #445–Houston

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department has issued a 38-day suspension to a deputy who stopped a motorcycle rider without cause and seized his helmet camera.

Did you all catch that?  Suspended, but not fired and charged with breaking the law.  Not to mention the fact that evidently this officer can appeal his suspension.  Here’s the video from the incident:

Because when you’re a cop there is no such thing as deprivation of rights under color of law.

What a prick! So nice for his agency to stand behind this officer’s criminal acts!

I’m sure there are lots of good cops in this department, but so long as they stand behind this thug they’re just as dirty!

Umm… Dallas County isn’t Houston… Houston is Harris County.

Yep, your title is wrong. This is Dallas in Dallas County.
I remember this happening. A couple of days/weeks before this incident a group of bikers had closed down a freeway for a while doing stunts. Word went out that “something will be done” to stop that reckless behavior.

As too often happens, when word goes out to stop some elements of law enforcement think they don’t have to obey the laws. Still happens, especially in Dallas County, on a regular basis. I live in Tarrant County, the next one over.
