Quote of the Day – Robert Steed (3/25/2013)

The Constitution did not guarantee public safety, it guaranteed liberty.  And sometimes what comes with liberty is tragedy, unfortunately.

[His whole speech was fantastic, but that quote was down right priceless.

DFS!  I must say he was also very well spoken.  Well done and said sir!  -B]

  1. Old NFO says:

Yep, that one is a home run!

  2. Lyle says:

I love the first sentence. The second sentence is glaringly unnecessary. I don’t know what he means by it. It can be taken to mean that liberty is the cause of tragedy, which of course is what The Enemy has been saying all along. If that’s not what he meant then I don’t know why it would be there. If one is going to elaborate on the whole truth that is already contained in the first sentence, then the point should be that tragedy will of course still happen with liberty (for what Earthly power can eliminate tragedy?) but it will be reduced by orders of magnitude compared to what happens in an authoritarian state.

Also; what greater tragedy is there besides the loss of liberty?

Mr. Steed should be given the air time on the big networks as the people of Sandy Hook were given. lets see the media show the side of an average person who believes in his and our rights!!!
