Forced civil service anyone?
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 07/27/2010 - 20:40To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.
So the government wants to force us to serve 2 years in either uniformed or civilian service under the sole authority of the President. Who cares if you have a good job or are in college, etc? Under this bill, there would be no choice. If you are between the ages of 18 and 42, male or female, you would have to serve. Land of the "Free" my ass. What a bunch of slave driving hypocrites. How many of those same politicians or politician's husbands skipped to Canada during the last draft? Now they feel they have the right to force others into service on their behalf.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with voluntary service. Forced service is the most evil thing on the planet. The Russians had forced service called conscription, the Germans did as well and it was also seen in the V-1 rocket factories. Mr. Obama and Congress take your brown shirts and go to hell.

As It Should Be
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 07/27/2010 - 19:53So Alan came across this how hippie are you quiz.
I scored exactly as I should have. WTF was up with your score Alan?
Ok, you conservative soul. Do you even believe in global warming? Loosen that necktie a little, and try some organic food. It actually does taste better. And go to a farmer's market--they're fun.
Are you a hippie?

Mexican Prisoners Acted as Hitmen
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Mon, 07/26/2010 - 20:28Back in 2008 we were being informed that the source of 90% of the guns used in crimes in Mexico were being supplied from America and smuggled in to the country. These numbers were railed and the truth exposed about how the statistics were completely twisted. So when this came across my email today I was, needless to say, not terribly shocked.
So let me get this straight. Prisoners in jail for breaking the law were let out, supplied with weapons, vehicles, and clothing. Yet those guns were somehow magically supplied by American smugglers, NOT the Mexican government. Heaven forbid anyone actually look at what the problem really is. Evidently the media and other bigots think the only solution is to restrict the rights of honest, hard working law abiding citizens.

To Protect and Serve?
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 07/24/2010 - 21:19Warning, the video is long but well worth the watch.
The quick and dirty synopsis though is that an individual was shooting on the back of his property. A neighbor heard the shots and called the police. The officers responding over reacted, and proceeded to perform an illegal search of his house as well as locked containers within the house. After nothing was really found, they made up excuses for searching the premises and stretched for reasons for the arrest. They also confiscated his firearms. All the charges were dropped, however the sheriff's office has returned all but 4 firearms. What is most interesting though is that those four firearms were mentioned by officers as wanting to keep for their own.

The furthest from “green” one can possibly get
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 07/24/2010 - 15:27Uncle a while ago posted something about the Green Police Audi Super Bowl ad. I fell over laughing at the "Ford Earthfucker" statement and immediately wanted to add my trucks to the list. Phil was able to add his truck however all three of my rigs are work rigs and in the environment where I live, even not working they get a nice coat of dust. Well, today I was finally able to clean all three and set them up for a picture.
There is Earthfucker Sr. on the left. A 1997 F350 with a 460 under the hood, and gets me a whopping 11.5 MPG highway, around 9 towing anything serious. In the middle is Earthfucker lite. A 2008 Ford Explorer and gets around 20 mpg on the highway, with the hills around here though more like 18.5-19.5 depending on how I feel like driving. Lastly is Earthfucker Jr. A 2010 F350 Super Duty, with a 6.4 liter Powerstroke diesel and a manual transmission. That gets around 20 MPG highway, and can pull my boat up the Lewiston grade at 75 mph with room to keep going.
Many have given me crap about having three large working vehicles. However given the winters around here at times, I don't want a small car. I want a vehicle that will get me from point A to B without letting me down. The previous Earthfucker lite performed remarkably when my wife walked away from a serious rollover after hitting black ice. We had a small car once during winter, never again. I might feel differently if I didn't live in the middle of nowhere and have this strong desire towards self reliance. I spend a lot of time during winter helping pull people out and throw up flares at accidents. The large vehicles do not equal being able to fly around, it's just the ground clearance, power, and weight helps if you're patient and know how to drive in snow. I could drive a small car, but it's not my skills I'm worried about, it's the other people on the road. Especially college students, hence the bull killer on senior.

Comic Con vs Fred Felps
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 07/24/2010 - 08:58Protesting Comic Con is probably the most STUPID thing they could have done.
I hate Fred Phelps and his church of mental degenerates as much as the next person. So when I checked the roll this morning and saw that Comic Con responded with such snark and enthusiasm I couldn't help but smile.

Quote of the Day – Thomas Paine
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 07/21/2010 - 19:18He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself. ~Thomas Paine
[I decided on using this quote after hearing about some journalists wanting to shutdown Fox News. It's amazing how dumb and stupid people really are and their complete lack of ability to fully think ahead. What is to prevent the government from then turning around and shutting you up after they silence "your enemy?" The idiocy is mind boggling. When anyone's rights are violated, we are all violated. –B]

Keep Your Booger Finger off the Trigger
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 07/21/2010 - 18:58See what happens when you give cops a non-lethal weapon. They pull it when it's completely unnecessary and then accidently discharge it into the man's groin. Frankly, I think that officer should have the favor returned, especially since it was all over a supposed lack of insurance.

Boomershoot Private Party
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 07/20/2010 - 20:28Sorry for the light blogging lately, I've been taking care of another project for some friends. Joe asked last week if we could help out with a private party. More specifically he said he should be able to handle it on his own, however I know the help makes it much easier. Here's a video of the day's events followed by a detailed description and pictures.

This one time at band camp…
Submitted by Janelle Barnett on Sun, 07/18/2010 - 21:36So, this past Saturday the husband and I went out to the Boomershoot site to help Joe Huffman with a private party. Joe got a quote of the day from me as he was giving a tour of the site. Here is the back story of that quote:
In high school I was a member of the marching band and at band camp the band moms held a belching contest for anyone in the band who wanted to participate. To say the least, I won, beating out the guys in the process. During an awards ceremony of sorts at the end of camp, I was awarded the best tone quality award for the belching contest. My mom was not enthused when I got home, but my dad thought it was a hoot. It was proud moment.
Back to Saturday, I belched while out at the site and I was congratulated for it. The husband made sure to mention that it was an okay belch and that I can do much better, hence the quote.

Independence Day 2010
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sun, 07/04/2010 - 11:00This year we celebrate Independence Day on the heels of another win for gun rights. The historical road for this country is full of lessons that we should remember, cherish, and endeavor to never forget. Independence Day is a day devoted to one of the most monumental and important events in our history. This event is so important and monumental that previously nothing like it had ever been seen throughout the history of the world. This event is marked by one day with one particular document. On July 2, 1776 the Continental Congress voted on the Lee Resolution which actually declared the colonies to be free and independent states. It was then that the Continental Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, as the document to formally notify fat George we were no longer accepting his bull "crap".
If you have never read the entire Declaration of Independence I highly suggest you do. If you have read it, read it again, it's never too early for another refresher.

Quote Of The Day, John Adams - 07042010
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 07/03/2010 - 21:56Objects of the most stupendous magnitude, and measure in which the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn are intimately interested, are now before us. We are in the very midst of a revolution the most complete, unexpected and remarkable of any in the history of nations. –John Adams, June 9, 1776
On this day 234 years ago, one of the most memorable parts of that revolution occurred. Cherish the freedoms and liberties gained by those men who risked everything in creating that document.

SWEET! A journalist has nailed it on the head.
Submitted by Janelle Barnett on Fri, 07/02/2010 - 12:25Gregoire dismissed it all by saying she's too busy to watch TV and hadn't even seen any of the reports.
She then turned around and talked about how she has absolute faith in ferry system officials.
What?! How is that possible? She is the Governor and therefore should know and care about mismanagement of taxpayers' dollars.
I find the governor's arrogance incredible.
I find her lack of regard and respect for taxpayers offensive.
Why did she get voted in again? Oh, right, the Republic of Pugit Sound wanted her, no one else really had a say. Though I think the winds may change when the Governor seat is back on the chopping block.

The Saga Continues
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Thu, 07/01/2010 - 21:15Mayor Daley unveiled his new set of laws to infringe and deny a specifically enumerated right today. Let's break down the bullets one by one.
The measure, which draws from ordinances around the country, would ban gun shops in Chicago and prohibit gun owners from stepping outside their homes, even onto their porches or garages, with a handgun.
How does one move the weapon to and from the firing range? Furthermore why can a homeowner not carry a firearm on his own property? How does one even bring the weapon home after purchase if it is not allowed outside the house? There may be exemptions in his ordinance, however knowing Daley and his previous history I doubt it. Also, with the lack of gun shops in the area, one will have a difficult time obtaining a weapon.
Limit the number of handguns residents can register to one per month and prohibit residents from having more than one handgun in operating order at any given time.

Unemployment benefits create jobs?
Submitted by Janelle Barnett on Thu, 07/01/2010 - 16:57On what planet is Pelosi living on? Certainly not this one.
In her world, unemployment benefits given to the unemployed from taxpayers' money are actually creating jobs.
"It injects demand into the economy," Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. "It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name."
Pelosi said the aid has the "double benefit" of helping those who lost their jobs and acting as a "job creator" on the side.
So once again, the democrats believe that more federal spending will magically turn the economy around. Rewarding the unemployed with a check for doing nothing will not bolster their need to seek employment and actually EARN a living. I am currently unemployed and it is driving me mad to not be earning anything. I am not able to contribute monetarily to my responsibilities and the price of everything is continuing to increase. The unemployment rate is still hovering around 10% and at the rate the government is going, it is not going to get any better.
The government claims the jobless rate is 10%, but the suspicion is that it is more like 20 – 25%. John Williams is an economist that feels the jobless rate is about 10% higher than what the government claims.
