Memorial Day 2011
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Mon, 05/30/2011 - 03:00Even small towns give birth to heroes. When was the last time you went and found a local hero you knew nothing about? Maybe today you should since you probably have the day off. Remember them and their families. They made the ultimate sacrifice in hopes you wouldn’t have to.

Quote of the Day–Anonymous(5/28/2009) and The Cider House Rules
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 05/28/2011 - 18:45Went into town to help administer a ham radio exam. Dropped by to visit some friends from work at the “man shack”. That visit dropped a quote of the day.
If all these hippies want to grow green food, why don’t they just go back to the days of plantations. Human labor is green right? –Anonymous
We all realized some would be offended by that quote so it shall be posted into the internets by anonymous.
Some of the guys are very into brewing cider, how serious you ask?

The Problem with May-Issue
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Thu, 05/26/2011 - 20:45You’re left at the mercy of others regarding your own defense. To me it’s clear cut this man should be allowed to carry a firearm, yet some would say he should live at the mercy of criminals. He should be allowed to carry a firearm without some bureaucrat passing judgment on him.
He was kidnapped at gunpoint, abducted from his place of business. Initially a judge denied his application for a permit. I guess the judge felt like the Brady Campaign and felt this individual should just give them what they want. In this case though, all these people want is his life. We all know how that ends.

For Every Other District but Ours
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 21:00Waiver after waiver is being thrown to exempt different companies from the requirements created by ObamaCare. What is most interesting is there are tons of waivers being issued for companies who reside in congressional districts who voted for ObamaCare.
Why does a waiver system exist considering “everyone is equal under the law?” Yet we see the following in the news recently:
Followed by:
The list continues but the issue is obvious. The representatives who were “representing us” forced an ill conceived bill down our throats and exempted themselves and their voters from the repercussions. There are people in the rafters who are screaming, “But this will bring health care to the masses” as well as, “This will help create jobs and employ the unemployed.” Mrs. Pelosi even claimed the following:
The facts, so pesky aren’t they, state something completely different. The CBO announced recently the following statements regarding the impact of ObamaCare.
This comes out, according to the article, to 800,000 jobs destroyed by ObamaCare. The reason these people want waivers is they are getting caught in their lie. They are now forcing the rest of us to live the horrors of the law they created while they exempt their constituents. The following describes this whole situation the best:
This behavior by our elected officials smacks of, “we know best”. Now that it’s discovered to be poison those who didn’t want to eat it to begin with are going to be forced to die while letting the others who supported it vomit. The law is to be applied equally to us all. If some are exempted, the law should be repealed. Where’s the tar and feathers?

Reasoned Discourse By Force of Government
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 05/24/2011 - 17:46The President has decided to create a new position in the White House, Director of Progressive Media & Online response to remove any negative media about him from the public eye.
Translation: Remove all negative commentary that is derogatory towards reelection despite the truth. Use the power of government and the threat of force to silence anyone who would dare speak out against the second coming of Jesus our fearless leader.
This is going to go over as well as chocolate over pork. These are the few things that our dear President doesn’t seem to realize or understand, especially since he still thinks it’s 2008.
- The internets are forever. Just because you demand something be removed doesn’t mean it’s gone.
- The first amendment protects speech by the people from the interference of government, including elected officials. As the American public is going to be funding this position will this individual also remove false and derogatory statements about others running for election? In all likelihood, this individual will be issuing statements to websites that he would remove if it were about the President.
- Doing something like this is completely contrary to his transparency policy on government.
- It is yet another example of the government attempting to meddle and control the people without regard for the law or legislative process. There is a large group of people who don’t like this type of behavior.
The Führer President is attempting to stifle criticism and speech about him. Soon there will be a politburo which will censor all writing prior to publishing. It is disconcerting that so many people do not take issue with this type of behavior or see a problem with it and would ignore the fact that these same individuals are asking to be vested with the power to shut down the internet. Then again there are people who respond with “Heavy Boots.”
Note: I will not remove any information that is critical of the President or any other elected official. While the President is deserving of the respect granted him by the office, that does not render him able to do anything without criticism. Any federal or state employee works for me and I can be critical of how they conduct their business, treat my rights, and behave while spending my money. The office does not make them a pure soul, they are like you and me, a human being. If the elected representative dislikes the criticism maybe they should alter their behavior to decrease criticism by me and others like me.

Finally Saw the Doc
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Mon, 05/23/2011 - 16:05Hopefully by this Friday I should start to feel better. The sinus pressure last night was bad enough my teeth started to hurt. Doc gave me 10 days of Augmentin we’ll see how it goes. Pharmacy had it ready before I even got there, the internet is awesome isn’t it?
The wife and I have been spit balling some ideas for both upcoming articles as well as a running series along the lines of the “Dead Goblin Count.” Our current problem is a title for the count that will be catchy and entertaining. Depending on how I’m feeling later tonight I’ll try and do one of the single “commentaries” I’ve been wanting to write up but my brain/stuffed sinuses just wont let me. So in the mean time, more porn! Well Gun Porn that is.
Look carefully at the dust cover.
If you don’t get it, watch this. Yes that’s Ry, and that is the rifle he used to cook bacon with.

No Hope for Humanity
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sun, 05/22/2011 - 20:00Hearing about all the suckers who believed that the rapture was yesterday was already depressing enough. Then the heavy boot’s story spread closer than I would have liked.
I can some what understand how it could happen given unused knowledge and skills are lost. How in the name of Zeus's butthole is the concept of gravity so lost? If gravity can pull heavy boots to the surface, why wouldn’t it pull down a freaking pen. Hell Apollo 15 dropped a hammer and a feather to prove Galileo right. The feather didn’t float off into space. Those thoughts cause the minor depression, then I remember that these people also vote and I break out the whiskey.
At least the wife is about to finish “Unintended Consequences”, I guess that’s a glimmer of hope. She also said the pen would fall to the surface. Then again I am obsessed with the Apollo program. While the cost was hugely immense, I cannot help but step back in awe as engineer and look at what all those young men did. There is no limit to the possibility of human achievement other than the limits created by bureaucratic red tape.

Bummer
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 05/21/2011 - 12:34So I was hoping to go to the “Rapture” party tonight some buddies from work are throwing but I just got a call and a friend from out of town is visiting this weekend. I’m meeting up with them for dinner at the same time as the party. We all know the rapture failed and this party is to basically make fun of the idiots. I’ll try and swing by possibly after dinner, we have some other stuff to do in Moscow including shopping.
Because of this and my stupid stubborn head cold I’m not sitting in front of my computer too much today. I’ve got a couple posts in process, but alas I’ve got other stuff to work on and do today. Come back for ice cream tomorrow.
Here’s a pic Oleg took of David and his wife in 2010. Yes that’s me to the right.

Quote of the Day–Joan Peterson (05/18/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 05/18/2011 - 22:03[I discovered this after investigating a probable case of reasoned discourse involving CSGV lying yet again. Ignoring the fact that it was Twitter that made the final decision to suspend the CSGV account. Facts and the truth mean nothing to these people.
I do not understand how the pro-rights side of this argument is scary. You have absolutely nothing to fear from any of us. There is claim after claim that we are just going to go and shoot people we disagree with, yet it has NEVER happened. I subscribe to the same philosophy as Capt. Malcolm Reynolds:
"You don't know me, son. So let me explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed."
Again and again we are portrayed by them as nothing but maniacs who wish death upon everyone else but ourselves. The facts though is that we wish for every person to be able to make the choice to defend themselves and prevent someone else from forcing death upon them. We are not murderous, we are not short tempered, we do not want to see people needlessly injured or hurt. Scary we are not, if you do fear us your fear is irrational unless you have behaved in such a way as to threaten us or our families. We do not wish ANYONE harm yet again and again the other side has wished it upon us.
Are we relentless, you bet your ass. That is but one of the many reasons as to why we are winning.
CSGV attacked Linoge and was attempting to intimidate and harass him publishing information that is no one’s business for no other reason than intimidation. If that isn’t the case, then why would the CSGV, Joan Peterson, or anyone else on the other side of the aisle make exactly that claim if we did the same thing. Names are one thing, listing information geared at locating an individual, tying him to specific employment, and other acts is intimidation. Blogging under a pseudonym isn’t to hide, it is done to separate one’s professional life from their personal life. Blogging is personal, tracing down employment is an attack on their professional life. So why shouldn’t Linoge be relentless in this case? Their behavior could cost Linoge his job if his employer supports the anti-rights bigots. It’s happened before.
We are relentless because to enjoy freedom and liberty requires eternal vigilance from those who would seek to destroy it. The Brady Campaign currently is using the crisis of terrorism to attempt to deny people an explicitly enumerated right without due process of law. We are relentless because to do otherwise would mean that we think the rights that we fight for are without meaning or unnecessary. Ultimately we are relentless because we do not think that anyone should have the ability to force their will upon another by use of force. Should someone attempt to do so, that person should have the ability to fight back with the best tools for the job. The anti-rights bigots would disarm us by force without our consent, to then be at the mercy of someone else. Forcibly disarmed to not be able to defend ourselves. Relentless, you bet and we don’t stop until the threat has stopped!
One thing though my wife took direct offense at was that Joan Peterson referred to all pro-rights bloggers as men. This side of the fence is not just men, it is full of women and frankly I find it down right sexist and offensive as well. Never do the bigots make mention of the fairer (and much more beautiful) sex. My wife thinks its because it’s known that all the good looking ones with great figures are on this side of the debate. I think it’s much more simple than that.
They can not argue against them. Attempting to argue against them shows what they really think about self defense. It shows that they don’t want women to be self reliant. It shows that they think they should be at the mercy of anyone stronger who would do them harm.
All of these facts, don’t matter though because the other side has made up their mind. We are sub-human to them and unworthy of life. For that reason we will relegate those bigots to the dustbin of history.

Caught in Another Lie
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 05/18/2011 - 19:43CSGV had the twitter account suspended today after a complaint was filed by Linoge. They then proceed to play the victim card saying that they were falsely accused.
The problem is Linoge was not false in his statement and Twitter made the final statement in disabling their account. They felt that the information and evidence provided by Linoge violated twitter’s terms of service and in fact showed their behavior as harassment. Not only that, but Linoge did not ask for the account to be suspended, but the offending tweets removed. Twitter disabled their account after reviewing the situation. This is why you don’t play childish games and act like an adult.
On a side note, I find Jason Tippitt’s comment is interesting since they suffer from Peterson syndrome while we argue facts and logic. I call out Jason’s statement since the gun grabbers have admitted that lower overall violent crime rates are NOT their goal. They have an artificial goal of lowering “gun crime”, what actually happens is that overall violent crime rates increase in areas of heavy gun control, while it’s not “gun crime” so it fulfills their artificial goal.
Gun rights activists are not pro-murder and to claim such is to ignore your own volition in supporting the Criminal Occupational Hazard Reduction Organizations. I did my own research comparing the Brady Scores to the actual 2009 FBI crime statistics. The FACTS state that there is absolutely no correlation between heavy gun control and a decrease in violent crime. In fact of the 20 states with the lowest per capita violent crime rate, only 3 have a score above 20.
Mr. Tippitt you wish to disarm law abiding Americans, and support and organization who has been harassing, threatening, and intimidating people who disagree with their position. You obviously have not done much research on the topic otherwise you wouldn’t make such a horrible statement without presenting facts and logic to back up your incorrect and down right offensive statement.

Not so much an Engineering problem...
Submitted by Janelle Barnett on Wed, 05/18/2011 - 12:218. ENGINEERING
The disassembled parts of a high-powered rifle have been placed on your desk. You will also find and instruction manual, printed in Swahili. In ten minutes a hungry Bengal tiger will be admitted to the room. Take whatever action you feel appropriate. Be prepared to justify your decision.
My Answer:
Assemble the gun to the best of my knowledge, disregarding the Swahili manual since all firearms operate on the same basic principle and can usually be easily and intuitively assembled. If the hungry tiger is admitted into the room before I am finished, pull my side arm and kill said tiger. Then continue with the task at hand. Also, there is no mention of ammunition being provided with the rifle, so, to err on the side of caution it is assumed that there is none. Therefore, my side arm would be used, PERIOD.
Justification:
Self defense.

Quote of the Day–Joe Huffman(05/17/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 05/17/2011 - 18:07I just realized the CSGV disclosure of peoples real names makes sense if you have the correct world view. Perhaps they think of gun bloggers as superheroes and themselves as the bad guys.
Joe Huffman – Random Thought of the Day
[I love this because from our point of view he’s right. They are the villains and Heinlein had a very valid statement on the subject.
Tango offered a olive branch last night and was frustrated by the idiocy that was put forth. I would say in this case Tango has attempted to make them his friend. He can now proceed to destroy CSGV without hesitation and without hate. Making libelous statements while acting as the media director for an organization is a very dangerous thing.
I must say though, it’s fitting referring to gun bloggers as superheroes, especially since they fight for the rights of everyone not just themselves. –B]

Quote of the Day - John Longenecker (05/16/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Mon, 05/16/2011 - 17:37Guns on campus may be a heated issue, but liberty purists can take the controversy out of the question when we remember that being armed in large numbers is just as shrewd as teaching CPR to everyone for the Café Coronary which can take a life faster and sooner than EMS can arrive. The entire purpose of an armed citizenry is how to resist violence in the absence of first responders, e.g. police. Not only do police have no duty to protect individuals from the criminal acts of others, but there simply aren’t enough officers anyway.
John Longenecker, Guns on Campus, Churches, Workplace, Bars and Restaurants
[This is what the anti-rights organizations refuse to see or understand. They project their own feelings and behaviors on to what they would do if they owned a firearm and assume all owners are that way. Believing that we are all hell bent on killing others ignoring the fact that we are trying to protect our selves and families.
The pacifist methods of the CSGV and Brady Campaign have proven pointless and a method to ensure one’s one demise. Yet time and time again, armed citizens fight off their attackers and survive. This movement on their part towards self reliance ensures that they do not become a victim, yet the Brady Campaign gladly counts the criminal as a victim to inflate their statistics. The Brady Campaign and CSGV has done more than any other group to increase violent crime overall. They are ok with this outcome, because really they don’t care about crime, they just care about “gun crime". The fact is though, the choice of tool doesn’t matter, the victim is still violated and I care about the victim, not the criminal. -B]

What the Brady Bunch and CSGV really are
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sun, 05/15/2011 - 10:59Often the CSGV and Brady Campaign claim that you should just give an attacker what he wants. Nothing is worth taking someone else's life over. Well here’s the problem, what if all your attacker wants is your life? Sadly this happened recently in Kansas City.
…
Police said they don’t think Bledsoe resisted or challenged the gunman.
This man did exactly what the pacifists say he should do. He offered no resistance, gave the criminals exactly what they wanted, and still ended up ventilated with lead for his troubles. Unarmed this man was nothing but a cow being led to the slaughter.
He did exactly what the Criminal Occupational Hazard Reduction Organizations recommend and has been placed in a box to go six feet under. These people value the lives of criminals beyond your own. If you want to have the support of the Brady Campaign, CSGV or any other Criminal Occupational Hazard Reduction Organization, you need to commit crimes of violence against the innocent and law abiding.
These groups support legislation and laws that would prevent the law abiding from obtaining one of the best means of self defense without due process of law. Already innocent people are caught up by the no fly lists without legal recourse to correct the situation and now they want a specifically enumerated right to be limited just the same. Their bigotry towards women, minorities, and the law abiding knows no bounds. Their actions and support shows without limit they believe that a criminals life is worth more than your own. That is why they count criminals who were shot while committing crimes by their victims in self-defense and “victims of homicide”.
If you support the CSGV or the Brady Campaign, you are a supporter of the Criminal Occupational Hazard Reduction movement. Their goals are to make sure that criminals have the advantage in their trade of work. Their goals include the following:
- Ensuring rapists are not ventilated while trying to arrive at work or forced into returning home without working for the day.
- Ensuring burglars are not shot as they arrive on the job.
- Ensuring that witness can be dealt with at the mercy of the operator to prevent a unnecessary lapse in job vacancy caused by the legal system.
- Ensuring that armed robbers are the only ones armed to making dealing with those witnesses easier.
The goals of the CSGV and Brady Campaign are simple, ensure that criminals can operate unhindered and violate women, minorities, and every other law abiding citizen in this country. They are nothing more than Criminal Occupational Hazard Reduction Organizations.

More Gun Porn
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 05/14/2011 - 11:17I’m doing some site maintenance and configuring the Drupal multisite configuration. All old links will still exist, but from now on I’m going to use site specific locations and upload through the blogging service. Here’s hoping it works.

Democrats and Race
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Thu, 05/12/2011 - 03:00Bob Parks did a wonderful article recently on the history of the Democrat part and detangling their web of lies.
This is the kind of BS spewed by Democrats on a daily basis, and unfortunately the media and other so-called watchdogs are so apparently ignorant of American history, Democrats continue to LIE through their teeth to their constituents, and via academia, to our kids. Despite the truth being out there for years, it’s probably not going to explode until some big shot news anchor gives us an “explosive expose” bringing us all those facts first, so he/she can proudly receive a Pulitzer…
He proceeds to cite examples of how the democrats have been bigoted since 1858 all the way up to the present. Go read the whole thing, I applaud him for his effort and work since those are facts that are all to often ignored.

Sex, Drugs, and College Students
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 05/11/2011 - 14:20I previously wrote a response to someone who sent a letter to the editor of the WSU Daily Evergreen. Given the events in Texas over the past couple days this has produced renewed vigor on the topic. If you haven’t read my previous response regarding concealed carry on campus, go read it.
Yesterday, I don’t remember where I saw it first, but this doozy of a line has taken off like wildfire since Uncle posted it this morning.
As everyone has already stated, but it bears repeating, no one is giving anyone guns! All this bill is doing is allowing people who are licensed to carry concealed weapons to carry to class and other places the would normally go while obtaining their education.
This statement of students being largely interested in sex and booze is down right offensive to me. I did not have the benefit of my parents being able to support me through my entire college career as my father passed away from cancer when I was 19. Prior to that though I knew my job was getting that degree. As that was my job, I did not drink, I did not carouse, I knew my goal and I worked my ass of for it.
While many college students go on a “21 run” for their 21st birthday, I went to bed early. Why, so I could be at the sheriff's office as they open to file for my carry permit. People who get their carry permits are an entirely different breed of person. All these laws seek to do is allow someone who has a permit, which allows them to already carry elsewhere, to continue to carry when they attend their classes.
What is most disturbing is I see claim after claim of sex and booze, yet I do not remember seeing anyone drinking while attending a lecture. I do not remember hearing about anyone having sex while in class. I rarely if ever drank while going to college, certainly not on weeknights. Yet these people say I was properly disarmed because of my “constant drinking” and “carousing”. And I went to a school rated #18 by the Princeton Review for top party schools in 2002, in 2009 it was rated #16. Please note I attended 2004-2008. I and others like me went to college for an education, not to get drunk and have sex. I don’t need to pay someone tuition to do that. Most of my friends were either ROTC, or former military there on GI bill, none of them were out partying every night.
This statement is projection and nothing more. This individual spent his college career drinking and carousing and does not see how anyone else could not have done that while in college. I keep hearing statements regarding drinking and campus carry, yet actually on campus, where this discussion is centered, you rarely see people drinking alcohol, it is an educational institution after all. How is there a magical line that a permit holder crosses and all the sudden he becomes a raving lunatic bent on killing everyone? The fail to comprehend that a potentiality is not an actuality.
Gun free zones and high Brady scores mean nothing to criminals, don’t believe me, look at San Jose State.
- In the safe bastion of California with the highest Brady Score of 80, the score that’s proven worthless.
- In a state where permits are not shall issue.
- On a college campus that was a gun free zone.
The only people who follow the laws are the law abiding. By the gun grabbers own admissions, they would rather disarm people preventing them from fighting back to “lower gun violence” than have a lower violent crime rate overall. Everyone who wants campus carry wants it because they don’t want to be disarmed to be an easy victim to make the Brady Campaign or Collation to Stop Gun Violence feel better. Feelings have nothing to do with it, this side is fighting with facts and logic, but those are disregarded by the other side.

2010 Brady Scorecard vs. 2009 FBI Violent Crime Stats
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sun, 05/08/2011 - 11:35I stumbled across the 2009 FBI Statistics and figured I would update the comparison I did the other day. Unsurprisingly even with using the newer data, the results for the different graphs look the same.
But the correlation dropped even lower to –0.015. The previous correlation already indicated that the score didn’t matter, this shows it matters even less when used with current data. The correlation for the upward trend of all scores above 50 decreased to 0.67.

Quote of the Day–Kurt Hoffman (05/06/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Fri, 05/06/2011 - 11:16Perhaps, though, this kind of thinking explains CSGV's insistence on referring to "our democracy" with such regularity, rather than acknowledging that our nation is a republic. Promoting the notion that we live in a society where the majority rules, meaning that 51% can legitimately vote away the fundamental human rights of the other 49%, fits right into CSGV's agenda, especially when coupled with the VPC's latest theme, of gun owners as a minority.
-Kurt Hoffman, Down the Memory Hole with @CSGV
[One of my pet peeves is referring to our government as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic, a democracy is nothing more than mob rule. A republic is supposed to prevent one group from controlling the other protecting minorities in the process.
As I have said previously there are certain rights that do not require recognition from the government. Not only that, some rights may not be voted away or removed from the people. Many of these though were specifically enumerated by the framers of the constitution to provide them extra protection. The CSGV and Brady Campaign believe they're in the majority, yet event after event is showing they are anything but.
The CSGV and Brady Campaign are waging a war of manipulation. Just look at CSGV’s name, who could be for “Gun Violence”? Just the same, they manipulate people into believing that we have a democracy instead of a republic. Ultimately representatives should be representing all of their constituents and protecting their rights, even the one’s who didn’t vote for them. –B]

On the 2010 Brady Scorecard
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Fri, 05/06/2011 - 13:25So the Brady Campaign put out their new scorecard yesterday. Normally I wouldn’t care but I got bored today. So I took the 2006 Census data (latest accurate data available) and compared it to the score card.
Initially I plotted violent crimes per 100k versus the score given by the Brady Campaign. What I got was lack luster to say the least.
From the above there’s a couple things worth noticing. The top scores are all middle of the pack. Of those top scores, those with lower values actually have lower violent crime rates. Also notice the complete lack of correlation, 0.0314.
So first I’m going to do a little fun with numbers and play the same game the gun grabbers do before I really dig into the meat of what this shows.
The highest Brady scores are all middle of the pack regarding violent crime. What is noticeable though is the highest scores all have an upward trend.

Quote of the Day–Mike W. (05/07/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Sat, 05/07/2011 - 03:00If you only have one leg how the hell are you supposed to run away? If you're wheelchair bound how are you supposed to duke it out with someone ablebodied? Anti-gunners don't care. In their world perhaps Americans with physical impediments don't exist or don't matter, but in the real world those people are frequently victimized.
[Many have posted this already however this strikes a chord with me. My father-in-law is a below the knee amputee. My wife has radial nerve palsy which limits her use of her right hand. Lastly I had the muscular equivalent of a total hip replacement after my auto wreck. While I can run, I can not run far, fast, or for long. Swimming is a different story, but the impact from running starts to send sharp pain through the area they cut up.
The CSGV, Brady Bunch, and every other anti-gun organization out there want to disarm the American public for their safety. When in reality they are doing nothing but making sure people lack the tools and ability to fight back. With a firearm my wife stands a chance to be able to fight back against someone who is considerably larger than she is. She can effectively defend herself despite her disability. I have been in fist fights, they’re not fun are extremely nasty and the winner is usually the person who is the strongest. It is the ultimate in might makes right. Just because you’re right doesn’t mean you’re going to win a fist fight, and if you have any disability, it is going to count against you.
The Brady Bunch is claiming their laws help make us safer, yet when you actually analyze the statistics, it shows that is anything but true. –B]

It’s a Beautiful thing
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Thu, 05/05/2011 - 14:13While gun grabbers have problems just raising money to fight their own battles on this side of the fence is a different story.
Last year I posted a comment regarding a story from Sebastian. Joe just reported the donation to Soldier’s Angels from the Boomershoot dinner.
Not only have most of the people in that room probably donated to the NRA, CCRKBA, 2nd Amendment Foundation, or any of the other pro-rights organizations but they then turned around and shelled out more donations for our boy’s in uniform.
As Joe points out that donation was bigger than what was brought in from the raffle as Gene and another participant gave Joe extra money asking absolutely nothing in return.
The other side is still trying to show us as heartless idiotic redneck cannibals. Yet the evidence shows that is anything but true. Not only do we support our rights that we hold dear, we donate money to help those who need it more than we do.
A big thank you to Bruce for organizing the dinner and a thanks to Joe for putting the whole event on.

Gun Walker about to go Nuclear
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Thu, 05/05/2011 - 12:19So the ATF personally handed weapons across the border, including NFA weapons?
I would like to point out that they sent weapons knowingly into Mexico and then magically lost the hardware. This is pure conjecture however I would NOT be surprised to hear that agents received private cash payouts from cartels as part of this investigation. What better way to smuggle equipment across a border than to have a government aiding and abetting.
Then after shoving all these weapons over the border the ATF then says that straw purchasing is a serious problem and a long gun registry needs to be created. This whole thing smacks of an engineered plot to achieve political goals by committing crimes and then blaming the law abiding. Every agent who broke the law while operating on an “investigation” should be prosecuted under the law. Just because you are an LEO doesn’t exempt you from following the law. If anything you should be held to a higher accountability.

Issa and Chaffetz Grill Holder
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 05/04/2011 - 12:02My only hope is this anger is real and they find every person who is responsible and hold them accountable.
The video of Issa nailing Holder to a wall. Issa did a wonderful job nailing Holder.
Here is Jason Chaffetz.
One of these days I’ll probably write up a nice post with all the info I have. Every time I start trying to make a post on this I feel my blood start to boil. The amount of negligence and how it was being manipulated to destroy the rights of law abiding American’s is staggering.

Quote of the Day–Porretto(05/4/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 05/04/2011 - 12:33GUN CONTROL: The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound.
-Francis W. Porretto, (Comment on British gun control is sexist)
[I find that the majority of the gun grabbers feel morally superior to call 911 and have a police officer shoot their attacker. The thing is, the attacker will most likely have killed you prior to the police arriving. I know the person above didn’t coin the above, but it bears repeating.
Some would rather die than defend themselves. Many of those would like to disarm those of us who would. Their claim is security and safety. How is safety increased when you are disarmed to be at the mercy of your attacker. I’d rather die while fighting for my life than groveling at someone else's feet to let me keep it. -B]

2011 Boomershoot Fireball Stills
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 05/03/2011 - 12:54This fireball was epic, it has created a flurry of traffic. Rolf was kind enough to send me the pictures he took and I have uploaded them into my photo gallery. The fireball stills start here (look at the bottom). I’m posting the best images though in this post.

Boomershoot 2011
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 05/03/2011 - 10:33Here is a quick post on some of the more broad points of Boomershoot 2011. I was out there Thursday-Sunday, and camped Friday and Saturday night. I must say, from now on I’m camping out there, it greatly simplified things even though I only live about an hour and twenty minutes away.
This post is going to focus on Sunday, I’ll make one that covers Friday and Saturday later.
Sunday kicked off with a wonderful fireball created by Ry.

Quote of the Day–Patrick(05/02/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Mon, 05/02/2011 - 10:05However, I think this quote from her is proof that because they act with a hive mind, they believe we do as well. As if I’m sitting here, in IRC, telling others what to publish on her blog. I’ve been in the gunbloggers channel. We rarely even mention political gun stuff. It’s mostly about alcohol, NSFW pics, and just general insanity.
–Patrick, Joan Peterson Thinks Gunnies Are A Single Entity
[Anyone who has ever spent 10 minutes around gunnies knows that Patrick nailed this on the head. We do not plan, scheme, or otherwise come up with hive strategies for dealing with those who would take our rights. Instead when we get together we talk about guns, explosives, beer, sex, real alcohol, and just about anything else you can think of other than politics. Just spending 5 minutes in the GBC will probably land you at least one NSFW link. Boobs are awesome though. If the anti-gunners come up in discussion we basically make the same comments to each other we would otherwise on their websites.
Joan, you’re a freaking idiot. When mikeb rolls through the pro gun blogs making stupid idiotic statements, are you policing him? –B]
