QoTD – 14 August 2010 - Barron

I figured out why it is I hate coyotes so much, they are gawd-damned socialists!

This was said in response to a coyote looking to scavenge food from otters in the winter episode of Yellowstone: Battle for Life. We looked at the otter as the hardworking producer of society and the coyote as the parasite on welfare.

I'd been at it enough years pre-pregnancy that I could do it by feel.

QoTD - 11 August 2010 - Thomas Jefferson

"A noiseless course, not meddling with the affairs of others, unattractive of notice, is a mark that society is going on in happiness. If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them, they must become happy." --Thomas Jefferson to Thomas Cooper, 1802.

The government is stealing from those who are working under the pretext of taking care of everyone. Those who are working are becoming increasingly unhappy and disgruntled due to how the government is treating them. Atlas wants to shrug.

QoTD – 9 August 2010 – John Galt

The only proper functions of a government are: the police, to protect you from criminals; the army, to protect you from foreign invaders; and the courts, to protect your property and contracts from breach or fraud by others, to settle disputes by rational rules, according to objective law. But a government that initiates the employment of force against men who had forced no one, the employment of armed compulsion against disarmed victims, is a nightmare infernal machine designed to annihilate morality: such a government reverses its only moral purpose and switches from the role of protector to the role of man's deadliest enemy, from the role of policeman to the role of a criminal vested with the right to the wielding of violence against victims deprived of the right of self-defense. Such a government substitutes morality for the following rule of social conduct: you may do whatever you please to your neighbor, provided your gang is bigger than his. ~Said by John Galt of Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

This is something that is already coming to pass. The government is well on its way.

I knew there was a reason…

I loathe and despise groups like ALF and PETA and now there is even more cause for me to absolutely abhor PETA.

Since 1998, PETA has opted to "put down" 23,640 adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens instead of finding homes for them.

I believe in treating animals ethically, but I still hunt and enjoy eating meat. I don't kill wild game for sport. To me it is nourishment for me and my family. It is also a method of animal conservation. Without hunting, animal populations would increase and bring an increase in starvation to the same animals.

Domesticated animals cannot survive without their human counterparts and people who believe otherwise are foolish. Dogs and cats have been domesticated for thousands of years and depend on humans for their survival.

I also do not have a problem with animals being used for research as long as it is ethical. We would not be as medically advanced as we are without these animals. Cures for many diseases would not have been found and people would not have the hope that they carry every day of being able to beat disease and live better lives.

How is it okay to put healthy adoptable animals down instead of adopting them out to good homes? So much for animal welfare; it's obvious they just care about money to line their pockets and advertise the wrong doing of pet owners and hunters with no understanding whatsoever about true animal welfare and conservation.

Quote of the Day - 4 August 2010 - Barron

Bull fucking shit the world is going to end on my birthday!

This was said in response to the question of whether he believed the world was going to end on December 21, 2012.

I'm not sure that he feels really strongly about the topic, but, then again, I could be wrong.

Forced civil service anyone?

It's back.

To require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, and for other purposes.

So the government wants to force us to serve 2 years in either uniformed or civilian service under the sole authority of the President. Who cares if you have a good job or are in college, etc? Under this bill, there would be no choice. If you are between the ages of 18 and 42, male or female, you would have to serve. Land of the "Free" my ass. What a bunch of slave driving hypocrites. How many of those same politicians or politician's husbands skipped to Canada during the last draft? Now they feel they have the right to force others into service on their behalf.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with voluntary service. Forced service is the most evil thing on the planet. The Russians had forced service called conscription, the Germans did as well and it was also seen in the V-1 rocket factories. Mr. Obama and Congress take your brown shirts and go to hell.

As It Should Be

So Alan came across this how hippie are you quiz.

I scored exactly as I should have. WTF was up with your score Alan?

You are 0% hippie.

Ok, you conservative soul. Do you even believe in global warming? Loosen that necktie a little, and try some organic food. It actually does taste better. And go to a farmer's market--they're fun.

Are you a hippie?

Mexican Prisoners Acted as Hitmen

Back in 2008 we were being informed that the source of 90% of the guns used in crimes in Mexico were being supplied from America and smuggled in to the country. These numbers were railed and the truth exposed about how the statistics were completely twisted. So when this came across my email today I was, needless to say, not terribly shocked.

Prisoners in a northern Mexico jail were allowed out at night to carry out murder-for-hire jobs using jail guards' weapons and vehicles, officials said Sunday, revealing a level of corruption that is stunning even in a country where prison breakouts are common as guards look the other way.

So let me get this straight. Prisoners in jail for breaking the law were let out, supplied with weapons, vehicles, and clothing. Yet those guns were somehow magically supplied by American smugglers, NOT the Mexican government. Heaven forbid anyone actually look at what the problem really is. Evidently the media and other bigots think the only solution is to restrict the rights of honest, hard working law abiding citizens.

To Protect and Serve?

Warning, the video is long but well worth the watch.

Part 2.

Part 3.

The quick and dirty synopsis though is that an individual was shooting on the back of his property. A neighbor heard the shots and called the police. The officers responding over reacted, and proceeded to perform an illegal search of his house as well as locked containers within the house. After nothing was really found, they made up excuses for searching the premises and stretched for reasons for the arrest. They also confiscated his firearms. All the charges were dropped, however the sheriff's office has returned all but 4 firearms. What is most interesting though is that those four firearms were mentioned by officers as wanting to keep for their own.

The furthest from “green” one can possibly get

Uncle a while ago posted something about the Green Police Audi Super Bowl ad. I fell over laughing at the "Ford Earthfucker" statement and immediately wanted to add my trucks to the list. Phil was able to add his truck however all three of my rigs are work rigs and in the environment where I live, even not working they get a nice coat of dust. Well, today I was finally able to clean all three and set them up for a picture.

There is Earthfucker Sr. on the left. A 1997 F350 with a 460 under the hood, and gets me a whopping 11.5 MPG highway, around 9 towing anything serious. In the middle is Earthfucker lite. A 2008 Ford Explorer and gets around 20 mpg on the highway, with the hills around here though more like 18.5-19.5 depending on how I feel like driving. Lastly is Earthfucker Jr. A 2010 F350 Super Duty, with a 6.4 liter Powerstroke diesel and a manual transmission. That gets around 20 MPG highway, and can pull my boat up the Lewiston grade at 75 mph with room to keep going.

Many have given me crap about having three large working vehicles. However given the winters around here at times, I don't want a small car. I want a vehicle that will get me from point A to B without letting me down. The previous Earthfucker lite performed remarkably when my wife walked away from a serious rollover after hitting black ice. We had a small car once during winter, never again. I might feel differently if I didn't live in the middle of nowhere and have this strong desire towards self reliance. I spend a lot of time during winter helping pull people out and throw up flares at accidents. The large vehicles do not equal being able to fly around, it's just the ground clearance, power, and weight helps if you're patient and know how to drive in snow. I could drive a small car, but it's not my skills I'm worried about, it's the other people on the road. Especially college students, hence the bull killer on senior.

Comic Con vs Fred Felps

Protesting Comic Con is probably the most STUPID thing they could have done.
I hate Fred Phelps and his church of mental degenerates as much as the next person. So when I checked the roll this morning and saw that Comic Con responded with such snark and enthusiasm I couldn't help but smile.

Quote of the Day – Thomas Paine

He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself.  ~Thomas Paine

[I decided on using this quote after hearing about some journalists wanting to shutdown Fox News. It's amazing how dumb and stupid people really are and their complete lack of ability to fully think ahead. What is to prevent the government from then turning around and shutting you up after they silence "your enemy?" The idiocy is mind boggling. When anyone's rights are violated, we are all violated. –B]

Keep Your Booger Finger off the Trigger

See what happens when you give cops a non-lethal weapon. They pull it when it's completely unnecessary and then accidently discharge it into the man's groin. Frankly, I think that officer should have the favor returned, especially since it was all over a supposed lack of insurance.

Boomershoot Private Party

Sorry for the light blogging lately, I've been taking care of another project for some friends. Joe asked last week if we could help out with a private party. More specifically he said he should be able to handle it on his own, however I know the help makes it much easier. Here's a video of the day's events followed by a detailed description and pictures.
