SOPA Shutdown
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 01/17/2012 - 20:53Considering our fearless leaders want to trash our liberties and freedoms yet again I am joining 7000+ other sites in shutting down.
The SOPA is a very dangerous piece of legislation that has the potential to prevent me from writing my blog. Not only that but given the events involving Righthaven the damage done by those types of individuals will be greatly multiplied.

In Which Ladd Shows He’s a Sniveling Coward
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Fri, 01/13/2012 - 20:04Earlier this week I wrote a post on how I know I’m doing a good job. Well Ladd to make sure his responses were harder to notice updated his article. As always he twists words and moves things out of context.
On his blog, Barnett added that those who participated in the vigils "are faster on the draw than a personal injury lawyer to dance in blood."
This coming from a group [CSGV] of individuals who circle around like vultures and are faster on the draw than a personal injury lawyer to dance in blood. When ever there is a shooting the gun grabbers waste no time to attempt to levy the situation for their political gain. See Virginia Tech and the recent Mount Rainier shooting for examples. They do not care about the people, they care about their political ends. Don't believe me, look at the blood dancing they did in Tuscon while the family that lost their daughter was saying the exact opposite.
That comments was also a direct response to Ladd saying my comments were inappropriate, I added the italics to help illustrate who the subject was from the previous sentence. I never said anything about people participating in the vigils dancing in blood. I am saying that those doing it for political means as a heart string are dancing in blood. The organizations who organized it and are upset that the gun community expanded the effort to include all victims of violence. Not just the fixed metric of gun violence.
What I find most telling though is that there are no comments allowed on the CSGV blog website. Updates like the above are hidden and not mentioned. Basically the only way to discover changes like that is to reread the entire article. It’s his site, he can do whatever he wants. I would point out though that I have open comments, the only thing I delete is spam, personal threats, and things that just are noy acceptable in decent society. I’m more than willing to argue, I even have open comments and user ratings on my video. Lets look at those stats shall we?

The Stupid, It Hurts

Watch this….
Then watch this…
Now I go all JayG on this shit.
Uhh, no dumb ass, what you’re doing is teaching kids is that when you forget something or inadvertently do something you will be severely punished for it. That kid could have just left the knife in his bag, buried, for the rest of the day and not gotten in trouble. What dumb ass planet are you from!? In what !@#$ing world does any of your statement make logical sense.
You acknowledge it was an accident, he brought it to the attention of the instructors, and you punish him to show the school is safe.
News flash dumbass, the people you have to worry about aren’t telling teachers they have weapons. They just carry them and you never find out about them.
Oh by the way, I carried a knife every day through school from about 7th grade on. Guess what dip shit, that knife never stabbed anyone. Just the same my gun just doesn’t magically hop out of its holster and stab people.
Dear fucking god, what the hell is wrong with these people. You know they say those who can, do, and those who can’t teach. Well obviously this guy couldn’t understand logic if it was beating him to death with a hammer. The dumb is most certainly strong with this one.

A Security Theater - Veteran Edition
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Thu, 01/12/2012 - 18:55I was sitting across from a Marine tonight and the subject of the TSA came up. He had this to say.
Nothing confused me or pissed me off more when flying home and we switched to a commercial charter flight off of a military transport. They went through and made all of us throw away our lighters. We still had our M16’s and bayonets, but those lighters were mighty dangerous, especially since we could use them to take over the plane.
The saddest thing was, he was dead serious. Flying back they made everyone toss their lighters for “security reasons”.

Quote of the Day - Newbie Shooter (1/10/2012)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 01/10/2012 - 14:30I am a gunnie. I’m your friend, your neighbor, your teacher, your pastor, your doctor, your mechanic, your customer. Look to your left and to your right. I’m one of you.
Newbie Shooter - I am a Gunnie
[This was in response to a stereotypical quote from an anti-gunner which was also covered elsewhere. I discussed it last night as well.
That sentence above says it perfectly. They continue to attempt to dehumanize us because they can not bear the thought that we are just like them. The can no comprehend that someone would want to defend themselves. The do not understand there are those of us who refuse to be a victim. There are those of us who feel our self worth is more than that of a criminal that would do us harm.
These people have to live in a fantasy world because the truth destroys that which they believe. The cannot believe that someone could go about their daily business while carrying a weapon and not shoot someone. They project their self-control issues on everyone. Ignoring the fact that their projections are not necessarily true.
I am a law abiding citizen. I am an engineer, a wood worker, a blogger, a web designer, ham radio operator, ARES member, husband and I am a gunnie. -B]

Quote of the Day - Brigid (1/4/2012)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Wed, 01/04/2012 - 15:31For I have learned that survival is the individuals responsibility, all I ask of my government is the freedom to think, to defend, to act, while being free of the interference of those who don't. Freedom based on a Bill of Rights, which includes the right to fail.
Brigid - Small Things, Too Easily Lost
[Go read the whole thing. I cannot add anything to that other than I wish the majority could understand and comprehend the lesson. -B]

Quote of the Day - Larry Correia (12/20/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 12/20/2011 - 06:30Both sides agree that the body politic is unhealthy. The Tea Party solution is to replace the defective parts and put the body on a diet. The OWS solution is to transplant its brain with a cabbage. Then set it on fire.

- More reasons why the Occupy movement sucks and is lame
[I've written a few things on the Occupy bums already. It erupted into a large post, laying out many of the same issues brought up by Larry.
If you can't understand the above, it's obvious you're a generic product of the educational system that lacks the ability to think critically. -B]

Quote of the Day - Tam (12/19/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Mon, 12/19/2011 - 19:03And you know what? When the world started treating me like an adult, I found out I liked spinach just fine. As long as nobody was standing over me making me eat the stuff, because you still ain't the boss of me.
[And that's the truth right there. Seriously, there was a pile of stuff that as hard as my parents tried, I refused to eat it. I refused so hard that even to this day my mom thinks I am as picky as I was as a kid.
You tell me what to do, I will do the exact opposite.
I'm reminded of a story my buddy told me from the navy. Out going CO of the boat had a fantastic crew with very little in the way of discipline problems. A new CO came in and restructured liberty and the overall way he was treating his men. In the ends the new CO was treating his new men as children. His discipline problems went through the roof. The moral of the story, if you treat people like children they will behave as such.
No one has any business telling me what is best for me, doubly so if they have the ability to steal from and kill me at gun point and get away with it. -B]

Quote of the Day - Ian Harrison (12/13/2011)
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 12/13/2011 - 07:27Since then, a lot of water has passed under the bridge. In 1997, politicians in the country of my birth chose to vilify law-abiding gun owners as a means to appease the press and get themselves re-elected. As a result of the legislation passed, all legitimate handgun owners were forced to hand over legally held pistols and revolvers, or face up to 10 years in jail. There were a fair number of Brits who, rather than live in a country that would treat its citizens as serfs, chose to jump ship. My wife and I joined them, landing in upstate New York where we settled down to build our own version of the classic immigrant story.
(emphasis mine)
Ian Harrison - Top Shot Winner Becomes U.S. Citizen
[I don't watch Top Shot. Not for the fact I dislike the idea, I love the idea and how it normalizes the shooting sports. I don't watch it because I don't watch a lot of TV and of the TV I do watch I could care less about the drama llama that is reality TV. I do however absolutely love what can be observed from the quote above.
This man was forcibly disarmed by the country he defended and decided that country no longer deserved his citizenship. That is the power of gun control. It causes people to flee, yet you don't see American's fleeing to Great Britain due to their low crime rates and gun control.
Welcome Mr. Harrison to you and your wife. You obviously are in the right circles and find yourself in good company here. -B]

See, Our Overlords Don't Like Being Held Accountable
Submitted by Barron Barnett on Tue, 12/06/2011 - 19:59When you see something like this, you know the overlords at the City and County level don't like being told to stop being petty tyrants.
Palm Beach County Tuesday filed a lawsuit challenging the Legislature's ability to penalize local officials for regulating guns.
That's the problem right there in a nutshell. Our government is designed to have limited enumerated powers. When a politician steps outside those powers they are not held accountable. Instead money comes from the taxpayer to pay for the grievance. Doesn't matter if the law maker knew the laws were illegal, they get off free.
Sounds like the people of Palm Beach County need to break out the tar and feathers since the law makers there think being financially liable is a problem.
