The Minuteman

Sometimes close is a relative term.  Rolf prefers entertainingly close so he can use his .357 to make them go boom.

The result usually involves raining dirt.

So it’s 10 days to the start of Boomershoot, for staff anyway, and hopefully this isn’t a sign of things to come.  Yes it can be a great wind indicator, I will shoot rain, shine, tidal wave, whatever.  I just do prefer to be comfortable at least one day of the shoot, mainly the day of.  I’ll take cold and wet Friday and Saturday.

Yes that is snow sticking to everything but the concrete, which it started to later.  I must say that’s a really neat HDR shot since it turned the snow above black and the snow below white.  Now for the proof that it is actually spring on the Palouse.

Still Don’t believe me, here’s another.

Here’s the storm as it left, blue sky came in behind and the temperature dropped extremely quickly.  How quickly, 6 degrees in 40 minutes. 

Staff Cleanup has become cleanup again.  At least now we don’t have to lug all the targets down the hill.  Instead we haul our ass up the hill and blow them up in place.

You never know what you’ll find at Boomershoot.  My first year someone had a Browning M1917.

After we all went and had dinner and swapped stories down at the Ponderosa.  I don’t know why Alan looks so pissed in this picture, I’m sure there’s some reason.

The youngest Boomershoot attendee, to my knowledge, taking a nap on her dad’s shoulder. 

She fell asleep while her mom was shooting Ry’s social 50.

She was much more lively the night before at the Boomershoot dinner, she tried to hit me with her mom’s keys.  Normally I’d be upset, but she was adorable as she did it, how could you be upset when she’s got a face like this?

Shooting a 50 BMG is certainly a lot of fun.

Being the first to smack a boomer with that social 50, makes you want to do a happy dance.
