SSCC #437 – Upper Marlboro

A woman claims in court that a sheriff’s deputy raped her for 30 minutes in a courthouse holding cell while she was waiting to go to court.

How bad is it?  It’s really bad.  So bad this one’s gonna be left to speak for itself.  This one’s in the count most definitely because of the following:

“(The plaintiff) felt that she had no choice but to comply with Deputy Sheriff McIntyre demands as he was a sheriff, in full uniform, and she was incarcerated.

Because when you’re the cop, you can evidently do what ever the hell you want.

NRA and this Election

I got an email this afternoon from Stephanie at the NRA, who I had the pleasure of meeting at GBR.  The NRA has created two ads geared towards this election, specifically in-light of recent statements made by Obama during the debate as well as on his website.

This is serious folks and the fact that Heller hinged on one vote in the Supreme Court is serious.  That man wants nothing more than to disarm the American public at this point.  Many look at Romney and say he’s a gun banner just the same as Obama.  Except when you start really digging past the myths to the truth, that’s not entirely true.

Roberta was right, we are not going to reverse the slope.  We can slow it down though, and even more than that, we need to protect the tools necessary to survive when the time comes we finally discover the edge of the fiscal cliff, more specifically the bottom.

The bottom line is we must protect our natural rights from any who would assault them. Think long and hard before you vote this year.  I am one who always wants to vote what I feel is right, however sometimes you must make a tactical decision to cede ground in one place to take ground in another.

Someone Once Asked Me…

Why I wanted to save all those parts kits from my EE lab classes.  What parts kits am I talking about exactly?  These, including the others I got from friends who didn’t want them:

IMAG0400

You see, I had this ability to know I was going to need them in the future for some sort of awesome project.  Well Joe has been trying to get a project done to gather some info and I finally just said send me the schematic and I’ll build it.  Amazingly when I saw the schematic it all became obvious.  I saw what was being done and how it worked and figured out values that I could actually achieve.  Spent  some time at Radio Shack tonight and picked up parts and now every thing is in a nice clean box.

IMAG0401

At some point I may rebuilt it to use the extra connector that is available for power, currently it is using a 9V battery on the inside.  Currently this device is already on battery number two.  I missed a soldier bridge and didn’t ohm it before hooking it up.  Once I cleaned the bridge I did a full functional test with my ohm meter and it worked exactly as intended.

Now you may be wondering what exactly this little box is for.  I will give you a hint otherwise you’ll have to wait for the video.  The first three terminal blocks will have current flowing through them.  The silver BNC connector on the right is for telemetry.  Remember that this box is supplying the current.  I would give you a schematic but it would become obvious.  Those who already know, don’t spill the beans.  You might also consider who the customer is on this one for an idea of what we’re doing.

I will say off on the side I have 100ft of speaker wire and another 25 feet of coax cable.  Now I just need to put some labels on it and we’ll be done.

I will say when the Radio Shack guy asked me what I was building, I made sure to pay first.  The reception as it usually is though was, “Awesome, take video and send it to me.”

Quote of the Day – Stephen Moore (10/17/2012)

For well more than one of every three Americans, April 15th isn’t tax payment day, it’s payday from Uncle Sam.

Stephen Moore – Who’s the Fairest of Them All?

[It is deeply disturbing that 40% of income earners didn’t pay income taxes but instead received payments.  I keep hearing people use the term “fair share” and well as I used all so often lately:

What is fair about one group of people paying out taxes while another group collects a part of them for themselves?  Fair would be a flat tax, hell a flat income tax would even be a better start than what we have now. -B]

SSCC #435&#436: NYPD

The Brooklyn DA and NYPD Internal Affairs are investigating cops caught on tape beating a man wrongly suspected of trespassing in a Crown Heights synagogue, authorities said yesterday.

So the security guard screwed up and called police when he really didn’t need to.  However this is how the cops behaved upon showing up:

To put the icing on the cake.  Here is how the department has responded to the behavior of the officers.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said one of the cops involved, a 49-year-old man, “has been placed on modified assignment.”

Yup, business as usual for our anointed overlords.  When they say “To Protect and Serve” they really just are leaving off the hidden word at the end, “Themselves.”

Because by all means beat the hell out of someone without actually talking to them first.

ESS Boomershoot Volume 2 – The Bunny

So for some reason the ESS video didn’t pop up in my subscription listing.  Well volume 2 went up this morning and I have to thank Joe for that reminder.

Now it is worth noting that the pink bunny, while it survived Anette and Shelly’s wrath, it didn’t survive overall.  The wife couldn’t save the leg so my mother-in-law put it out of its misery.

The detailed post can be seen here illustrating our efforts to save the bunny.

Quote of the Day – Barack Obama(10/17/2012)

“What I’m trying to do is to get a broader conversation about how do we reduce the violence generally, part of it is seeing if we can get an assault weapons ban reintroduced.”

Barack Obama – Presidential Debate
October 16th, 2012

[All of you who kept telling me that Obama wasn’t coming for my guns, shut the hell up.  That statement above makes it clear as day that we have a problem.  We have gone down this road before and it did not do anything to solve the problems it was claimed to solve.  What it did do was prevent thousands of Americans from getting effective defensive arms.  Any individual who supports a law like that is not looking out for the best for anyone.

It is becoming obvious to even those who wish to keep their heads in the sand that this man is the enemy of freedom we all thought he was.  Looks like I will be investing in more firearms and ammunition right quick.

Updated to add: I forgot that about a week ago I did this post, which quotes right off of Obama’s campaign website.  His site stated the following:

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

Screenshot of the site can be seen here.  The fact remains that this man has no qualms about outlawing the most popular rifle in America and we also know it is a slippery slope to other restrictions.  We learned our lesson and it must be said, “Never Again!” -B ]
