Quote of the Day – Thomas Paine

“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it.” – Thomas Paine, The Crisis 1777

Freedom comes with great responsibility. Many currently would like to loose the burden of responsibility that goes with freedom. They would rather have the nanny state take care of them. While walking the line at Boomershoot I was reminded that I am by no means alone in the effort of seeking self reliance and personal freedom.

Quote of the Day – Laurel Griffeath

“Do you really think a bunch of shooting bloggers lead by Joe Huffman is going to go anywhere without the internet Mike?”

Laurel Griffeath – 4/25/2010

[She said this while she was trying to get a WiFi signal at Boomershoot –B]

Quote of the Day July 19 2009

“Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom, It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.”

–William Pitt, before the House of Commons, November 18, 1783

I ended up reading this last night and find it directly tied to Joe’s
Just One Question. The bigots claim it’s out of the necessity for safety, but the truth is it’s want of control.

Sen. Kennedy, Edward M. [MA]: Barely alive but still kicking down our rights.(unlike his passenger)

[I don’t know why, but that last little part, really made me laugh. Probably because I point out to many that Ted Kennedy’s car has killed more people than my guns. -B]

Quote of the Day – 06/01/2008

“Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good.”
— Thomas Sowell, Is Reality Optional?, 1993
———————————–
It seems to me that there’s been a push to believe that theory, which often sounds good, always works, and disregard the fact that theory is created in “a perfect world.” Case in point, many feel safer in gun free zones, I on the other hand feel defenseless because it only affects the law abiding. -B

“If Guns cause Crime, then Matches cause Arson.”

I think that’s self explanatory.
