So I’ve seen this movie from beginning to end.  Evidently Holder missed how that scene ends.  Otherwise he wouldn’t be replaying the dialog.*

*I know it’s not an exact translation but it is pretty accurate.  If it wasn’t you wouldn’t be laughing.

A computer virus has infected the cockpits of America’s Predator and
Reaper drones, logging pilots’ every keystroke as they remotely fly
missions over Afghanistan and other warzones.

Not sure what the exact attack vector is.  I have a feeling that the pilots aren’t surfing the web while flying but then again it’s certainly possible.  Stuxnet, has totally changed the malware attack vectors.

An internet connection is no longer required to be vulnerable.  Most disturbing is the fact they’ve tried to remove it numerous times and it keeps coming back.

Be careful out there, the web not getting any less hostile.

Take what comfort you can that whichever party is in power, it’s the same shined-up jackboot. And as long as it is only stomping cockroaches, who cares? –At least, who cares until they find themselves defined as a cockroach.* But, damn you, don’t look me in the eye and tell me that it is in any way how the freely elected government of a free country of free men and women operates, ‘cos it ain’t.

[I have mixed feelings about the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki.  On the one hand he technically is an enemy combatant.  On the other he’s a US citizen and the decision for his death shouldn’t exactly occur behind closed doors.  It is a slippery slope that many are willing to look past because we all know he was such a bad guy.  Letting things like this slide establishes a precedent that could be very bad.  Especially with how easily and quickly the government is labeling different groups of individuals as potential terrorists.  Roberta nails it on the head, eventually you’re going to be the cockroach.  -B]

Hoolihan’s was just one of 12 disturbing complaints filed against Hobbs
over the last five years at the Clayton County Police Department. 

At that rate he must have been going for Officer Roid Rage’s record.  That’s 2 and a half complaints a year and no one thought that maybe this was a clue?

Excessive force is the norm for this guy and he is more than willing to hide behind the law.  The internal affairs department is the watchers watching themselves.  Don’t think that’s really the case?

CBS Atlanta confirmed there has been no disciplinary action taken against Hobbs, and not a single day of suspension for an officer with 58 incidents of use of force. That’s nearly 20 times more often than an average Clayton County police officer had in the same time period.

A man who was in a diabetic coma was beaten by the officer and the internal affairs office ruled it justified.  Harless, the officers from LaGrange, San Antonio, and this guy obviously fit right at home together.

Because the proper behavior is to beat the hell out of someone when they’re passed out.  Who care’s about the actual medical reason, it’s an excuse to beat someone right?

In September, a former Deacon of Lakeland Church in Florida killed
his wife then shot a couple clergymen at the church.  Parishioners tackled
the man after he started shooting and subdued him until the authorities
arrived.  What makes this an It
Can’t Happen Here type of story is the following:

never heard of any problems there,” said Bryan Neely, who owns a motorcycle shop
about two blocks away.

Just because you haven’t heard of problems doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

“We’re
trying to find out exactly what forced him to go into this killing rage on a
Sunday morning,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. “It’s sad because of all
the places you should be safe, you should be safe in your house of worship. And
you should be safe in your house of worship on a Sunday morning.”

we can’t feel safe in the church, where can we feel safe?” Johnson
asked.

One should be able to feel safe in their own home too.  Doesn’t mean that is
going to be the case all the time. 

Crime does not discriminate.  Just because it is a place of worship does
not mean it is exempt.

When you have the excess man power, facilities, and equipment to do the following.  Your budget is too big.

In a city that hosts its fair share of murders and terror plots,
Washington, D.C., police are cracking down on another threat to the
nation’s capital — expired vehicle registrations. 

To the frustration of forgetful drivers, Metropolitan Police
Department officers are throwing people in jail for letting their tag
renewals lapse. The practice provoked somewhat of a backlash last year
after a local mother from Maryland was jailed for what in many places
would be a routine traffic offense punishable by fine. But the
department continues to reserve and exercise the right to throw drivers
in the clink for missing the DMV deadline, no matter where they’re
from. 

Sending people to jail for expired tags is necessary because of what reason?  A fine is reasonable, but what benefit does jail time serve?  It is often touted how over taxed the jail and prison systems are.  Well it’s no freaking wonder if they’re tossing anyone and everyone under the sun into jail.

Here’s a new set of rules:

• If you have the excess man power for something like this
• If you have the excess jail space for something like this
• If you can continue to perform all your other functions as well

If you match those conditions, your budget should be shrunk.  By how much, enough that the first two are completely unsatisfied, and your officers are doing free overtime to keep up on bullet 3.

A Gardner police officer already facing charges of child rape, and another man who was his roommate, are facing charges of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman who was their roommate.

Larry J. Landry, 35, and Tyler Hartley, 20, have been charged with three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over age 14. They were arraigned Sept. 27, and pretrial hearings are scheduled for Oct. 18.

That right there has all the signatures of upright and honest all over it doesn’t it?  The guy looks like the guys I saw dealing drugs in high school tats and all.  There’s some questionable items in the article.  Such as why she remained in the living arrangement after the first incident.  However I do know that sometimes people end up in a tight spot and don’t think they have any other option.  Especially when you see the following:

She said she was afraid to turn them in because she worked for Mr. Landry and his father doing security and did not want to lose her job.

In this economic environment loosing your job can easily mean loosing your ability to eat.  Fear for her was well placed and is certainly understandable.  Hopefully bubba on cell block D makes this former cop feel the same discomfort he put this woman through.  Not to mention how much child molesters are loved in prison.

Because being a cop and the son of a woman’s boss means you’re free to do whatever you want.
