On the Discussion of Gun Control

Often the anti gunners as of late keep asking why we cannot have a discussion regarding gun control.  The fallacy of this shows through in a quote from Joe to start with.

We had the "conversation". Your side lied, cheated, and took unfair advantage at every opportunity. But still your side lost. Big time.

Moving forward though there is an even bigger reason no one is having a discussion with the other side.  No one over there is actually interested in a discussion, all they want is their pipe dreams to be implemented.  Don’t think I’m wrong?  Lets look at the most recent incident that Linoge and Sean have run into.

And here we are, with yet another "gun control" extremist who not only cannot substantiate their own arguments, but who says they welcome discussion but acts in a fashion that says something else entirely. Yeah, I know, nothing new there, but it is worth noting that these folks are still employing the same tactics that have resulted in so very much fail over the past few decades; in the end, "gun control" boils down to the idiocy of "do it again, only HARDER", and its supporters seem hamstrung by the same mentality throughout all facets of their lives.

Go read his post and see what the comment was that caused this individual to black list him.  Now not only is it worth noting though that they engage in “Reasoned Discourse” while claiming to want to have a conversation, but when our side speaks up they may also go the route of shoving the whole post down the memory hole too.

So, to all the anti-rights cultists out there, please enlighten me, if you delete your post, how can there be a conversation?  Even worse though how can you have a conversation if you’re the only one allowed to talk?

I consider this yet another example of our opponents going through the stages of grief.

SSCC #430–Billings

A 12-year-old girl suffered burns to one side of her body when a flash grenade went off next to her as a police SWAT team raided a West End home Tuesday morning.

Why would an officer feel he needed to throw a flash-bang towards a small young child?

Police Chief Rich St. John said the 6 a.m. raid at 2128 Custer Ave., was to execute a search warrant as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation by the City-County Special Investigations Unit.

Ahh, the war on drugs.  Supposedly they felt this to be a high threat raid, except no one bothered to take into account the two small children in the house.  Instead they felt it to be a better option to kick down the door, break windows, and emotionally scar them since you know, knocking on the door and serving the warrant would be some how bad.

The real clue is that no charges have been field, the police claim they found evidence, of what who knows.  Most likely they will use that “evidence” as leverage to prevent legal action on their negligence.

State Sponsored Criminal #430: The Billings SWAT Team

Because by no means should an officer use his own brain to think whether or not “X” is a good idea or actually required.  Even more so, hand the potentially dangerous material to someone too stupid to wait till it goes off before letting it go.

In Which I Become A Professional Photographer

So I recently got a check in the mail from a company, that shall remain nameless, for services rendered.

IMAG0399

You see, said company has a company calendar that is sent to customers and given to employees.  Well they needed pictures to use with the calendar and they selected two I took in 2011 for inclusion in the calendar.  Evidently they needed more winter photographs.

Ice Tranquility

I really was hoping they wanted to use this one though:

The prints across the field are Joe‘s, he was at the Taj as this picture was taken.  Who cares, I’m getting paid cash money for snapping a picture, that’s AWESOME!  Now to master the art of using Photoshop.

Thoughts on “Respectful Disagreements”

So I saw this story today.

Volunteers at the Warren County Democratic headquarters, just north of Cincinnati, were shocked and disappointed by a political prank unloaded on them early Tuesday morning – someone dumped a pile of horse manure in the parking lot of the headquarters building on US 42, just north of Lebanon.

Now I laughed and chuckled, I would have still laughed if someone had done it to a Republican headquarters.  What got me thinking though was the following statement from the County Democratic Chair.

Goldenfield goes on to say, “It’s really unfortunate that people can’t have respectful disagreements… We’re not going to be discouraged by it. It’s just very disappointing. It will probably motivate our people even more but it’s also a very disrespectful thing to do.”

Respectful disagreements, lets talk about this word respectful.  Those on your side of the debate have been nothing but rude, bigoted, and down right evil.  How evil?

A 16-year-old high school student says she was mocked by her own teacher after she arrived to class wearing a t-shirt supporting GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"Then a whole bunch of kids came in and a [teacher’s assistant] took a marker and pretended to draw on my shirt and then told me to take off my shirt," she said.

"People were telling me not to come to school, saying they were going to hit me and stuff like that," the teen said, referring to threats posted by fellow-students on her Facebook page in response to her political attire.

Have no fear for the teacher though because the school districts response?

The teacher who started the firestorm by criticizing Pawlucy’s Romney-Ryan tee-shirt is still out of school, pending an administrative hearing.

Now supposedly the union isn’t supporting the teacher but I think that’s mainly because it’s obvious how bad the teacher stepped in it in this instance.  Moving forward though we have the bus driver who informed a young man that his mother should have aborted him.

But when students on the bus started Romney chants this week, the driver started a political conversation with the boy, prompting him to point out that Obama is pro-choice, according to conservative blog Freedom Eden. The students attend a local Catholic school.

The driver allegedly retorted, "Maybe your mom should have chosen abortion for you."

Yup, that’s a real civilized respectful disagreement right there.  Especially since this man felt he needed to attack a 12 year old child for his families political views.  Bummer the bigot couldn’t pick on someone his own size.

But wait, there’s more!  This call for respectful disagreement is also coming from the same party who is so tied into the unions they conscript their support from union membership.

How is that for a respectful disagreement?  Force support for your party by holding a person hostage by keeping them from feeding themselves or their family by tacking on a fine.  Now some may claim that you don’t have to join the union.  That only holds true if you’re in a right to work state.  You could always go find a job elsewhere that doesn’t have a union, but often the union will do everything to get a monopoly on the industry to force membership.

Moving even further forward, lets do a quick look back into history shall we?

A 24-year-old arrested this morning on suspicion of smashing 11 windows at Colorado Democratic Party headquarters tried to conceal his identity while allegedly committing the crime, according to police descriptions.

While Schwenkler does not appear in the state’s voter registration database, a person by that name in November 2008 received $500 from a political 527 committee called Colorado Citizens Coalition for "communications," according to campaign finance disclosures.

The accountant for the 527 appears to be the same woman who handles the books for many other Democratic-leaning political committees.

So they did this to themselves, which works well when you can control the narrative and say it was the other side.  It fails when you’re minions get caught.  Now there was a window that recently broke in Alabama and again the Dems ran off claiming people were shooting at them, mainly the Republicans and independents that can’t have a respectful disagreement.  Lets look at what really happened.

Police say that a window that shattered at Mobile County Democratic Party headquarters in downtown may have done so as result of previous damage, Cpl. Christopher Levy, Mobile police spokesman, said today.

All the left knows how to do is claim “victim status”.  Lets also not forget the fact that the left is considerably more violent than the right as well

Finally lets examine two last items.  First up from OldNFO is the following:

According to the Pentagon, requests for military absentee ballots is down 92% from 2008!!!

At the same time I also had this bit of information come across the radar from Sebastian.

However, now there are reports that not only is the robocalling giving out false dates to votes, but an Obama door-to-door campaign targeting seniors in a county that went Republican is also giving out the false dates, I’m not so sure this is an accident.

Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three or more times is enemy action.  Well bad news for the opposition, I don’t believe in coincidence.  Even then the robocalls and door to door mistakes are truly two separate incidents for a count of three.  It is well known and common knowledge the date of the election and informing people in mass of a incorrect date, especially in a county likely to vote against you is just wrong, deceitful, and again not an example of someone engaging in a “respectful disagreement”.  Yeah, with regards to her use of the word respectful…

Then again, a party whose membership consists of people using the power of the state to rob from others to give to themselves wouldn’t really understand respect if it walked up and slapped them in the face.  Respectful would be letting people keep what they had earned.

Now why would I bring this up, while I am currently doing my best to be respectful to those of differing opinions?  Their right to have me remain respectful ends when they’re no longer respectful to me.  Even more than that, they have no right to my respect when they are taking my property and work for their own because honestly, where’s the respect in that?

Socialism First Hand, A Warning

Now, with his comments about taking away the incentives for success and people losing interest in working hard in mind.  Lets look at another video:

Think about this for a second.  They’re penalizing success and there are large groups of people who instead of working live off of entitlements from the government.  As RobertaX said, we cannot reverse the slope, but we can at least change it to give us some time.  Given time we might be able to reverse it.

The ACA is going to have some serious repercussions that many probably don’t even realize.  Especially in large parts of the voter base that is most likely to support Obama. What am I talking about?  College internships are liable to get screwed.

There is no way a company is going to bother paying for benefits for an intern, doubly so since usually they are on school or their parents healthcare.  So now when you’re working 40 hour weeks in the summer they’ll have to provide care of face a fine.  Well instead they’ll limit you to 29 hour work weeks.

This is significant because during the summer I regularly worked 40+ hour weeks to pull overtime to save up for my upcoming semesters.  Now instead students will have to incur more debt because they will be prevented from earning money to pay for school.  Wait, who is it that subsidizes most of the loans, which are exempt from most laws governing debt, that’s right the government.

That’s right folks, the government passed legislation that will force more people to take loans and pay them interest.  Nice huh?  Don’t worry though, they’re from the government and they’re here to help…

Ultimately though Bill Whittle nails it with this one:

The money quote:

The left has these same failed ideas from about a 20 year window at the end of the 19th century.  That have never worked, don’t work now, and will never work.  And this clinging to an ossified discredited model based on envy and resentment has killed no less than 100 million people.  And many people call this progressive as they cover themselves in glory, but not in the blood or the failure.

It may be the recent history of the 20th century, however I think it’s certainly in the current path of the future for the United States.

SSCC #429 – Lafayette

The former police chief for Lafayette has been arrested after an investigation into allegations that he assaulted a prisoner.

He was arrested though, so why put him on the count?  Well he’s an example of why departments drag their feet for the benefit of those who should really be expelled from service.

The TBI began investigating in July at the request of District Attorney General Tommy Thompson.

Amalfitano resigned his position effective Sept. 21 but has since started working as a police officer with the City of Westmoreland.

Obviously the departments involved have the welfare of their citizens in their best interests… right?

State Sponsored Criminal #429: Ray Amalfitano

Because if you get caught breaking the rules, don’t worry, your department won’t fire you, just resign and get a job some place else.

The Truth About…

First up, beware, drama llama within, some of you wont really care about the following post.  Anyone just coming into the gun rights community and anyone interested in gun rights should be at least be aware of what follows.

So earlier this week I had a quote of the day from Oleg and the subject of his quote was left intentionally vague.  I left it vague because honestly I would rather people not drive traffic to this person or his website.  The list of reasons I would rather people not visit this person or provide him traffic is long and distinguished.

If you’re unaware of exactly who I am talking about, Linoge has done a nice and detailed post explaining exactly why this person should not be accepted or welcomed within the community.  Now I warned you, the list is extremely long and the post is quite easily labeled an uber-post.  The sad thing is, you will notice it is long mainly because the number of transgressions is quite large.

While this person has not personally slighted me, he has slighted people I know, and not just know but some I have a very deep respect for.  His solution to polite and civil requests is to just claim what he did is legal, with no accounts for morals or mutual respect.  He claims to be a supporter of the Second Amendment but runs his website in the same manner as Joan Peterson.

I do know he has upset a few folks that honestly I would never want to be on the bad side of.    Even more importantly, one individual that was upset has done more than any other person to help reclaim and reestablish gun rights in this country.  This also doesn’t even touch on his treatment of Emily Miller.

It should be noted that the reason Linoge named both the individual and the blog is to hopefully help with search traffic.  The individual in question is quite good at search engine optimization so it is quite difficult to actually dig up information on the grievances he has caused.

Also it should be noted that like Jennifer I have no issue with making money from blogging.  Notice I now have an ad on the right again.  While there is no way I will ever get rich from this, I would at least like to make it self-sustaining.  What I do have a serious problem with though, is taking other people’s work and then attempting to profit off of it.

So please, ignore the troll, shun him like you should, and if he steals your content, blog about it, email him, and contact Linoge to be added to the list.  If you’re feeling really frisky, pursue legal action, it is well known he’s making money from the blog, thus off of your work.

The Counter Keeps On Ticking…

Amazingly this one is slightly unlike the others:

Washington State University confirms a 22-year-old male student fell 11 stories from Orton Hall Wednesday night and survived.

How was it different?

WSU Police confirm alcohol was not a factor in the fall and no foul play is suspected.

At which point I have to start asking the serious question?  How did you fall 11 stories while sober?  What impaired your judgement to place you in that situation to begin with?

That’s the 4th fall on the Palouse in the past month, the 5th this school year.  As I said last time,

Remember these are the “best and brightest” that we send to college.  No, I don’t think so anymore.   A good majority of those who go to college I think go because they’re too dumb to do anything else.

I am quite interested in hearing his excuse though on this one if alcohol wasn’t a factor.
