Goodbye Google Reader…

So Google Reader is going under and I’ve been trying to find a solution.  Feedly just sucks.  Some people like it but frankly their UI leaves a lot to be desired. I tried NetVibes, NewsBlur and a couple others.  All of them didn’t really spark my candle and were missing features here or there.

Today I discovered Tiny Tiny RSS and happy beyond measure.  I have my own hosted RSS feeder with mobile device support now. image

State Sponsored Criminals: FBI and BATFE

Given today is the 20th anniversary of the end of the Waco siege, it stands to reason that I would place that event on the list.  The acts committed this day were horrible and no one was ever held accountable for the decisions and actions that led to the deaths of 76 people, including 27 children.

I remember coming home from school that day.  I remember going up to my dad while he sat in his chair fixated on the TV.  I do not remember what it was I had done that I wanted his attention for.  I do remember him promptly picking me up as I started to speak and putting me on his lap while telling me to be quiet.  When I looked at the TV, this is what I saw.

BRANCH DAVIDIAN

At the time I didn’t understand what was going on.  I didn’t understand what my dad knew happened 8 months earlier.

I was in 3rd grade, I had no real concept of the details of what was going on.  Later I would receive that education, my dad would make sure I was aware of what I saw in the flickering glow of that television.  This day marks one of two major events that molded my relationship with the state.  It was a lesson delivered front and center about power and the abuses that can be dealt to citizens without any fear of consequence.

I am not putting a number with this.  Frankly I’m getting tired of trying to keep track of which number I’m on.  Further this event was so horrible and had so many actors one can not easily list them, much less enumerate them.

Because by all means kill the victims you claim to be there to save, that’s how you make yourself look good right?

Stage 2: Anger…

Thanks to Uncle I came across this and didn’t place it yesterday.

Obama Fit

They are angry.  Many of them are moving past the denial stage.  They cannot remain there anymore, they failed when they felt they couldn’t possibly.

This isn’t to say the fight is over or that our victory is assured.  It does however work quite well with this comment from Uncle.

Pelosi says it’s just a matter of time. Most people on the wrong side of history think that until the end.

Their movement is dying, it’s just none of that have or are willing to accept their fate.

Challenge Accepted!

Via Alan I found this.

New bombproof waste bins to be planted throughout London will address not only the city’s security concerns, but environmental issues as well.

Designed to absorb the heat of explosions, the armored receptacle collects trash and recyclable materials in separate compartments. It also displays a weather-proof LCD screen streaming news and travel information, according to a Times Online story.

Note they didn’t say bomb-resistant, they said bomb-proof.  I have the sudden urge to do an Idaho Stress Test.

The most interesting thing is it’s designed to absorb “the heat of explosions”.  Yes, most explosions are exothermic, but due to the rapidly expanding nature there isn’t much heat overall. If there is, that’s usually because of extra fuel in whatever was being used as an explosive.  Further you can’t even just evacuate air out of the tank because even then you can make explosives that can still detonate.  The pressure is the deciding factor and the hard part to defend against.

So,  to Media Metrica, if you’re willing to put your money where your mouth is, please feel free to contact me.  I know I’ll be stuck picking the bits and pieces out of the field but by god this would totally be worth it.  No matter what you can always engineer a solution to cause it to fail.

Today’s Humor Relief…

SSCC #570: San Diego County

San Diego County and a sheriff’s detective might be liable for using excessive force and conspiring against a deputy’s ex-girlfriend with a “SWAT-like” raid of her home, the 9th Circuit ruled Tuesday.

The federal appeals panel in Pasadena, Calif., revived Michelle Cameron’s excessive force and conspiracy claims against San Diego County and Sheriff’s Detective Michelle Craig.

Why would the officer do such a thing?  To intimidate his ex to gain an advantage in the ongoing custody dispute.

State Sponsored Criminal #570: Michelle Craig

Because when you’re a cop in a custody dispute, use physical force and hide behind the law while doing so to intimidate your ex-spouse.

Quote of the Day – Joe Huffman (4/18/2013)

Yes. It was shameful that so many people put so much effort into attempting to infringe upon a specific enumerated right. This forced millions of other people to put their own effort into stopping that attempt. The entire country, especially the politicians, had important other things to do and we had to take time out to fight the statist scum.

Joe Huffman – Quote of the day—President Barack Obama

April 18th, 2013

[QTFMT.  I spent a lot more time over the past 4 months defending my rights and civil liberties than I should have had to.  I could have invested that time elsewhere but instead I had to fight to the best of my ability to protect my rights and those of my future children.

The good news is we won this battle.  Apparently Obama is guaranteeing that there will be a round two.  Good luck with that.  You’ve now placed a target on a large number of your senators backs and midterm elections are always moving closer.  Nice of you to force other politicians to fall on your sword for idiotic policies Mr. President.

Now pardon me while I go spend some time with friends and family like I should have been the past 4 months. -B]

SSCC Murray County Update

The original count post on Murray County can be seen here.

A second former Murray County law enforcement officer has pleaded guilty to obstructing a civil rights investigation connected to a former Murray County judge.

At that time, the U.S. attorney’s office is expected to recommend dismissal of a second charge related to removing information from his cellphone. Greeson could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison, probation for up to three years and a fine of up to $250,000.

How kind to allow such plea bargaining when the rights of citizens are on the line.

State Sponsored Criminal #562: Joshua Lamar Greeson

Because by all means when he fesses up to the end result of his crime, sweep the rest of his crimes he did in the process under the rug.
