Quote of the Day – Robert Steed (3/25/2013)

The Constitution did not guarantee public safety, it guaranteed liberty.  And sometimes what comes with liberty is tragedy, unfortunately.

[His whole speech was fantastic, but that quote was down right priceless.

DFS!  I must say he was also very well spoken.  Well done and said sir!  -B]

Quote of the Day – Joe Biden (2/28/2013)

I said, “Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.” Most people can handle a shotgun a hell of a lot better than they can a semiautomatic weapon in terms of both their aim and in terms of their ability to deter people coming.

Joe Biden – Field and Stream Interview

February 25th, 2013

[I don’t know how many times I need to say it, but seriously folks do not take any of the advice this man is offering.  He obviously does not know what he’s talking about and does not have the slightest clue when it comes to the laws around self-defense.

All I have to say is yeah Joe, and then you find out it was your kid running up to the door afraid of the same noise you heard.  How many different times can you give a rule 4 violation as good advice?  Seriously, WTF Joe? -B]

Joe Biden is Running His Mouth Again

So our illustrious Vice President made another stupid statement today proving he knows absolutely squat regarding firearms, usability, self-defense, and legal use of force today.

“If you want to protect yourself, get a double-barreled shotgun.” “You don’t need an AR-15, it’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use,” he stressed.

“I said, ‘Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, put that double-barreled shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,’” he said, and urged viewers, in closing, “Buy a shotgun, buy a shotgun!”

Blink…

Oh my word, where do I start with all the problems in just those few little lines.

First and foremost, unless you are the Vice-Presidents wife who gets automatic State Sponsored Criminal status when doing something stupid, do not do what he recommends.  Firing a warning shot is a great way to end up in prison.  Firing at people outside your house, again not the brightest of ideas.  And the idea that the AR-15 is harder to use and a shotgun is easier is false.  In so many way’s it’s actually not that funny.

Let’s just look at it straight from the math point of view of recoil shall we.

  • A Benelli Eagle II firing 12 gauge 1 1/8 oz loads is approximately 22 ft-lbs of recoil.
  • An AR-15 is approximately 3.2 ft-lbs of recoil.

Tell me, which one of those is more manageable to shoot and use?  Also note the example shotgun is semi-auto which will lower the recoil as well.  Not to mention there’s a lot of design in that shotgun to lessen the recoil compared to your standard double barrel.

Moving forward, part of his argument is that shot spreads meaning you don’t need to be as precise with your aim.  Tell me, are you going to be shooting 25 yards in your house?  Maybe if you had a mansion like Joe you’d get that kind of range but for the most part most houses aren’t big enough to pattern.  Further each shot throws 8 projectiles into the wild, 8 projectiles you are responsible for what it hits.  So in his 2 shots he fires 16 projectiles yet he would restrict my magazine capacity to 10 shots.

So I need some help.  I am looking for a volunteer in the Palouse area, preferably female.  The requirements are as follows:

  • General lack of familiarity with firearms.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Willing to be recorded for a response to Biden’s lies. (See below for details.)

I will not be tossing you behind a double barrel shotgun, my shoulder gets that honor.  No instead you will get free general firearms safety training, along with a 1 minute intro into the AR-15 platform and it’s use.  That training and a short course immediately after is what will be recorded for the response to Biden’s lies.  There is no requirement to interview or give your opinions though that would be appreciated.

Further I will provide a rifle and ammunition to attend local Appleseed event.  I’m also more than willing to pay for you to get the necessary training for you to obtain your Idaho, Utah, Oregon, or Arizona concealed pistol license if you are interested.

If you are interested or know of someone who might be interested, please contact me.

Quote of the Day – Sebastian (2/18/2013)

New gun restrictions there, even modest ones, is a much bigger deal than in the states anti-gun forces have already largely won. Any victory there will provide a template that will be repeated in other traditionally pro-gun swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa, you name it. Once the dominoes start to fall, it’s going to be extremely difficult to stop. This is why they cannot be allowed to score any wins at all. This isn’t about reasonableness. This isn’t about people coming together to solve problems. Politics is not either of those things: it is about power, and nothing else, and the side that is more effective at wielding power is the one that goes home victorious, and the other beaten up and bloodied in ways that couldn’t have been imagined when you went in thinking they were going to be reasonable. There is no reasonableness in the political process, there is only victory and defeat.

[First go read the whole thing.  Between that paragraph and the last paragraph it was a tie.

The law’s main purpose is simple, “to keep those who have the money and the power with the money and the power.”  Anyone who thinks differently is merely an ideologue who hasn’t discovered reality yet.

Right now our opponents are fighting tooth and nail to find a way to keep us out of the fight.  It is the only way they can hide their weakness and convince legislators to commit Seppuku.  Sebastian is right on another front, we must punish every last one of these tyrants come the next election.  We need to ensure those who attack our rights, even if unsuccessful pay the political price.

Those three sponsors for the Washington AWB are now saying, “I’m sorry I didn’t realize this was going to trample on more civil rights than just your right to arms.”  The three sponsors of that particular bill all belong to the Greater Peoples Republic of Seattle and I don’t see any of those paying for their crimes.  There are however plenty of people betraying gun owners over other bills such SB 5711.  We need to teach a very valuable lesson on all fronts.  We need to throw any legislator out who supported these bills.

Further if the state supports it, to show sincerity, get them recalled.  I’ve been contemplating for a while leading a charge to recall a couple of tyrants from Washington.  It will be exceedingly difficult, however there is always the possibility given the rapid change in the political climate of the past two months.  Washingtonians are pissed and many of them are becoming active again after being dormant for a long time.  I’m not kidding either, I know a few people who had even given up on voting after the King Dome/Safeco Field fiasco getting back into the ball game again.

What I don’t want to do though is make a bad move which is why I’m trying to talk with those who have a better aerial view of the political battlefield.

Make no mistake folks, we are seeing the final moves of a long played chess game.  How quickly it ends is anyone’s guess.  I can tell you if our opponents fail in their current plays, they will have exhausted themselves into defeat.  While we will still need to remain vigilant their relevancy politically will join the likes of the Aryan Nations and the KKK.  Let’s do everything we can to ensure their plays fail and anyplace they do gain an inch they pay politically by loosing a mile. -B]

SSCC #512 & #513: Lake Stevens

Lake Stevens has agreed to pay $100,000 to a young couple after two officers, without a warrant, forced their way into their home and forcibly arrested the man over a day-old traffic confrontation.

Screwed up barely begins to describe this situation and honestly those two officers are lucky they weren’t perforated.  In the current political climate, officers behaving like this could very well set off a powder keg.

Go read the whole story, it’s long enough and complicated enough I cannot easily post get all the details here.  However here’s the money shot:

Berg said Warbis and Wellington remain members of the Lake Stevens Police Department.

Reading through the comments indicates that Lake Stevens has a serious problem with this type of behavior and corruption.

State Sponsored Criminal #512: Steve Warbis

#513: James Wellington

Because warrants, probable cause, and all that other stuff are for other police officers.  These two can kick in whatever door they want, arrest whoever they want, threaten whoever they want, out of uniform, and absolutely nothing will happen to the officers.  Instead the taxpayers payout for their crimes.

Quote of the Day – Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson(1/26/2013)

Had this protest been launched somewhere other than in the security-screening area, we would have a much different case. But Tobey’s antics diverted defendants from their passenger-screening duties for a period, a diversion that nefarious actors could have exploited to dangerous effect. Defendants responded as any passenger would hope they would, summoning local law enforcement to remove Tobey—and the distraction he was creating — from the scene.

Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson – Aaron Tobey v Terri Jones

January 25, 2013

[First here’s the background on the story.

A Virginia man who wrote an abbreviated version of the Fourth Amendment on his body and stripped to his shorts at an airport security screening area won a trial Friday in his lawsuit seeking $250,000 in damages for being detained on a disorderly conduct charge.

Now let me translate Judge Wilkinson’s quote for everyone.

Because our TSA agents and federal government so dislike those who disagree with the government infringing on personal liberties and freedom.  People should no longer have 1st Amendment protections to their ability peacefully protest the behavior of the agents infringing on their 4th Amendment rights.

The fact that our paid government agents would pursue and harass a man for an extra 90 minutes because he was willing to protest is evidence he should not be allowed to voice dissent.  The reason he shouldn’t be allowed is because it compounds the ignorance and inability for the TSA to do its job thus making it more likely that an agency who has a track record of catching absolutely no-one to catch even fewer.

Instead the people should just silently undergo their mistreatment and act like good cattle and just get on the cattle car to the slaughter.  That way the TSA can continue stealing peoples private valuables to sell to others while under the protecting folds of working for the US Government.

Still think this whole thing is still really about making us safer?  The government does nothing but destroy and trample the rights and liberties of some to make others somehow feel they are safer.  When in fact the TSA guy just waves terrorists right on through because it’s merely an illusion and nothing more.

Just remember, Judge Wilkinson obviously despises the 1st Amendment as much as he despises the 4th Amendment.  Thankfully his opinion was the dissenting one.  -B]

At least some stupidity lasts…

For those of you who have never seen it, I present you the Carolyn McCarthy incident.

Well I was searching for it for someone at work and discovered this:

Yes, that’s right folks, if you Google “Shoulder Thing That Goes Up” US Rep. McCarthy is displayed as the person you’re looking for.  I do find something satisfying about her ignorance being placed front and center.  I just wish if you searched for her name the first result was that video.

Never fear though because sling swivels are now on their way to replace the shoulder thing that goes up!

This is why we find our selves in the predicament we’re in.  The media is either grossly or willfully negligent and the general public believes everything they say without fail.  This would be funny if it weren’t for the fact that I’m sure some politican is going to hold this up in a legislative session and say we need to ban it!

Never mind the fact that grenade launchers are destructive devices along with each and every grenade.  I personally have never seen one in the civilian market, even with all the gun shows I’ve been to.  I’ve never seen a real RPG either.  Yet this same group of media and journalists that label a sling point a bayonet mount says they can be obtained at gun shows.  Remember though, we’re supposed to trust them because they have done careful research and are “educated” on the topic.  When I was 4 I could have done a better job of identifying the different parts and the associated terms for a firearm.

[With the information that has come out thus far, I agree with this 10 fold.  I like these two assessments of Obama’s executive orders and feel no need to repeat it over again.

I do love this though.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

What was that? I couldn’t hear you.  Here’s how you should do that next time:

There was a lot that Obama could have done and run with but there would have been considerable political backlash.  The more this goes on I honestly feel like we’re in a “Wag the Dog” type scenario.  This by no means indicates that we can slack or that we have escaped the woods, it does indicate that the investment from the White House may not be as deep as they put on.

That said, the same talking heads as always are out in front and we know they’re not playing.  Reid has said the Senate will pursue action but has given no time-table.  Keep up the fight folks, we’re not out of the woods, but today was not the crushing blow we were all expecting.

That is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.  Sadly we need to hope that is the end and not a train coming for us. -B]
