SSCC #479 – Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that, in a letter filed with the Civil Service Commission,Tonya Lynn Jones was called to an apartment complex on a suspicious person or vehicle report.  While there, Jones noticed used furniture in vacant apartments, the letter states.

Jones’ boyfriend was later arrested at the complex on suspicion of burglary. Police said they found furniture from the complex in Jones’ boyfriend’s apartment.

How nice of her to think of her boyfriend and his criminal career while she was busy with her job.

Because when you’re a cop, every where you look is a potential “shopping” center.  Just most need merely 5 fingers for a decent discount.

SSCC #464–Williams

The man, a transient from California who was intoxicated and combative, had been arrested at a local market, Nixon said. The man made threats of violence and struggled with officers.

Nixon stated that a chokehold on a handcuffed person, even when the person is combative, is against the department’s policy. Nixon said that when he went to suspend Starcevich to conduct an investigation into the policy violation, Starcevich resigned in late October.

Other officers saw the incident and did nothing.  The officer resigned after he discovered he was going to be suspended.    The other officers are currently under investigation for other issues.  Evidently this problem runs deep.  As I’ve said before, incidents like this merely indicate a much bigger problem.

Because by all means make sure that as little impact occurs when an officer does something wrong.  Make sure he can bow out gracefully and go repeat the mistake someplace else.

SSCC #462 – IMPD

INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis police officer has been arrested on a drunken driving charge.

Officer Allen Johnson, 25, was pulled over for speeding just after 3 a.m. Thursday in the 5700 block of North Keystone Avenue, police said.

While it was in his personal vehicle, the history of the IMPD with DUIs causes this one to go on the count.

Because it’s only really driving under the influence when you aren’t a cop.

SSCC #451–Edmonds

According to charges filed by Snohomish County Deputy Prosecutor Adam Cornell, Lavely contacted the 28-year-old Seattle woman after she allegedly jaywalked on Highway 99 in Edmonds on the night of May 6. Early the next morning, Lavely encountered the same woman while handling a 911 call and placed her in the back of his patrol car.

Yet another officer looking for women while on the job and then preying upon them.

Because when you see a cute girl you like, just tell her to get in the back of your patrol car, she’ll listen because you’re a cop.

SSCC #450 – Colorado Springs

Former Colorado Springs Police officer Josh Carrier has been found guilty on dozens of counts related to molesting boys at a middle school in the city, where he served as a volunteer wrestling coach.

Honestly this one’s a bad one.  Bad enough that you can just go read the details if you want.  Since he was in a position of authority and could have just as easily accomplished this as a school liaison officer, he’s on the count.

Because when you’re a cop, no one will suspect you.

SSCC #449 – Flint Township

It is said that those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.  Take for example Flint Michigan.

A Flint Township police officer has been fired again following a vote by board members earlier this week.

The 5-to-0 vote — with Trustee George Menoutes and Treasurer Sandra Wright absent — came after a closed session and upon recommendations from Police Chief George Sippert and labor attorney Steve Shultz.

Township Supervisor Karyn Miller confirmed Officer Matthew Needham had also been terminated in November 2011 for violating four department rules and regulations, but she declined to give details on what specific incidents led to each vote.

Not once but twice.  You would think that they would have learned the first time.  Now it is worth noting that the union filed a grievance which is how he was allowed to return to the force.  He returned in June 2012, 5 months later he’s terminated again.

It’s almost like the unions are working to keep criminals on the street with a badge.

Because cops shouldn’t be punished and held accountable for their decisions or actions.

SSCC #444–NYPD

I saw this last week and I kept trying to come up with something to put with it and then a reader bumped it to me over the weekend.  This one is just disturbing in so many ways.

A New York City police officer who allegedly planned to kidnap, cook and eat as many 100 women has been arrested following a joint NYPD and FBI investigation.

This one makes the count because of the following:

Gilberto Valle III, of Forest Hills, Queens, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, according to a federal criminal complaint, as well was using the National Crime Information Center database to access unauthorized data.

This is why I have serious issues with databases created even with the most noble of intentions.  Just because the intent is good at the beginning or even the majority of users doesn’t mean that it cannot be turned by one individual set upon evil.  The details are just sickening.

It makes me wonder if he came across this(NSFW, Not Safe For Work, seriously do NOT click at work!  What can I say? GBC has corrupted me.) and didn’t realize that was all fake.

This is disturbing and sickening on so many levels.

Because the state exists to enable criminals and cannibals to find their unwitting victims to prey upon.

SSCC #435 – NYPD: Update

The Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office announced yesterday that it has dropped charges of assaulting a police officer — and other less-serious offenses — against a Crown Heights man who earlier this month got the crap kicked out of him by a police officer for no apparent reason.

The D.A.’s Office tells the Voice that it’s yet to make a decision about whether to charge the officer.

Thankfully they dropped the charges against the victim.  It is worth noting that most likely it was video of the incident which saved this man’s bacon.  Which is ironic considering the efforts officers will go through to prevent people from recording their interactions with the public.

Now hopefully the DA will step up and do the right thing and charge this corrupt bully with a badge.

State Sponsored Criminal #435: John Doe

Because cops are better than everyone else, didn’t you get that memo!?
