SSCC #313 – Indianapolis

Via Roberta X (I double checked this time Tam), comes a story of drunk driving with the IMPD.  This is nothing surprising, but the story overall is just astounding.  Roberta does a great job synopsizing it.  Remember this officer killed two motorcyclists after crashing into them while on duty.

Today, he — or his peerstook out a police chief, too.
Seems two vials of blood were drawn and one of them was to be left
untouched by human hands; both were secured in Official IMPD
refrigerated storage…only in November 2011, Persons Unrevealed took
the untapped vial out of the so-secure IMPD property room,* and stuffed
it in a room-temperature room over at the Po-lice Academy. Perhaps as a
talisman of just how thick the ol’ Thin Blue Line really is — but I’m
speculating.

Think about that long and hard and what would have happened to any other civilian who had done what he did.  We’d be in jail at a minimum, he’s on paid administrative leave.  Like you and me, only better.  Given the fact the Chief didn’t fire his ass, I’m not really shedding a tear since to me that’s just like endorsing what he did.  Not to mention the buck has to stop somewhere and some of his subordinates obviously felt they could get away with destroying evidence.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 313: David Bisard

Because if you’re going to drink and drive, do it as a cop.  Not only will you get paid during your leave, your buddies will destroy evidence to protect you.

SSCC #310 & #311–Hays County

The attorney representing a former San Marcos policeman tells KVUE News that he is “outraged” that a grand jury indicted his client on a charge of deadly conduct following an incident on a county road last November.

It’s another example of unpossible since these are anointed individuals and properly trained. They would never fire indiscriminately during a road rage incident.  Except that’s exactly what happened here.

The attorney says Dan watched as the occupants of the vehicle tossed “beer cans or bottles” out of their vehicle. His attorney said at one point the SUV turned around at a dead end, and fearing for his life, Dan fired three shots at the vehicle’s tires, apparently missing the SUV. At that time Kathy Misiaszek arrived and in an attempt to stop the SUV, crashed into it.

Here’s an idea.  Since you’re in a private vehicle you leave it to those currently in uniform.  Not only that, but don’t pursue them into box and then use the fact they had to turn around to leave and an excuse of why you feared for your life.  You were in a vehicle, stay in it.  There’s a lot of questionable stuff it in, but the fact is they weren’t in uniform and should have waited for someone in uniform.  Instead they willfully escalated the situation knowing they could rely on qualified immunity.

Because when you get sideswiped off duty, just shoot his ass when you have a good excuse.

SSCC #309 – Ohio

One last quickie:

Ohio State University Police detained
and drew their weapons on student-activist Mike Newbern for
demonstrating his support for gun rights by wearing an empty holster to a
candlelight vigil for Trayvon Martin on Wednesday.

It appears in this case it appears the cops disliked the fact he would dare do such a thing.  So they’re threatening a disorderly conduct charge also known as you did something we think should be illegal.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 309: OSU Campus Police

Because it’s totally legal to arrest someone because you dislike what they did.  You can just make up stuff just because you don’t like it.

SSCC #308 – Houston

A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy is accused of
using his badge and gun to force a repo man to give him his wife’s truck
back.

The upshot of being a cop is you can use your “authoritah” to intimidate people into letting you get away with things no one else would.  Even better is that your brothers in arms will help you in the process.

The wrecker driver says he pulled into a parking lot at the
jail to call the sheriff’s office and report the repossession, a routine
procedure. Seconds after he drove away, Huff said three cars pulled up
alongside him, boxing in his wrecker. The cars were unmarked, the men in
civilian clothes, but Huff says they all had guns pointing right at
him.

Isn’t it nice they were threatening lethal force to further intimidate this man who was merely doing his job?

Because the only people who have to make their payments on time are those who don’t work for law enforcement.  LEOs are exempt from paying their bills.

Update: SSCC #277-White Plains

I previously reported about this incident here.  The autopsy report has been released.  Unsurprisingly the police lied.

The former Marine shot by cops in his apartment died from a single
bullet that entered his right arm and ripped through both lungs,
according to an autopsy report obtained by the Daily News.

This directly conflicts with the officers report:

“The report clearly shows that Mr. Chamberlain’s arm could not have been
raised in a threatening manner with a knife at the moment he was shot,”
McLaughlin told The News on Monday night.

Not to mention the report states that Mr. Chamberlain was advancing towards the police.  What we have here is some idjit who works for the police violated the 4 rules, did an ND, and then tried to cover it up.  That’s the best option because frankly those officers created this situation and it cost this Veteran his life.  No worries though because the department ruled that it was justified… Before the autopsy report confirmed their story, and ignoring that the officers actions created the situation.

Remember, there’s a reason I call this the state sponsored criminal count.

Know Why I Run the State Sponsored Criminal Count?

Via Uncle we have a perfect example of why I run the this thing.

The city police officer fired for a pattern of verbal abuse and making threats is trying to get his job back.

Patrolman Daniel Harless is proceeding with the arbitration process,
said Kristen Bates Aylward, an assistant city law director.

Yes that is the same Daniel Harless, Officer Roid Rage, that can be seen in the count at #7.  This man had a history of behaving like this and it was documented on video in at least three separate incidents.  Even with that behavior though he is attempting to be reinstated as a police officer.

Here’s what this whole roid-rage incident teaches the public.  This behavior is acceptable as long as it does not end up being distributed to the public.  Don’t believe me?  If OCC had not obtained a copy of the video and released it do you think anything would have happened to officer roid-rage?  He had two previously documented incidents and nothing happened.  There was a city councilman that attempted to come to his defense trying to justify his behavior.

His argument to the arbitrator is going to center around the fact that his dismissal was due to public pressure, not because he did anything wrong.  Think about that for a second.  The fact we found this piece of black toxic mold and shined a heavy UV light on him is a reason for him to remain.  For you see if it hadn’t been for that UV light he would have never been dismissed.  Never mind the following fact:

The incident was reviewed by an outside prosecutor who concluded
Harless’ actions weren’t serious enough to warrant criminal charges.

If you or I had done anything like that we would have gone to jail and spent a bunch of time in front of a judge.  If we escaped without jail time it would have been miraculous given the fact that we threatened and intimidated and individual, while armed.  The only difference between him and us is the fact that he is sponsored by the state.

Still think the majority of police departments want to weed out the bad eggs?  For the most part they’re forced into retaining them, because unless you do something really egregious, you’re just a state hired thug.

SSCC #303-305: New Haven

Here’s one giant bag of unpossible given these are anointed individuals.

Three police officers were arrested on charges of interfering with a police officer, and two of them were charged with unlawfully discharging their guns.

The arrests followed an investigation into a claim that one or more off-duty officers illegally fired guns early Sunday outside a bar. No injuries were reported.

Don’t worry though.  I’m sure even with their gross negligence they will continue to be paid by the taxpayers during the investigation.  Even if they do find something though, don’t fret because I’m sure the punishment will be more training.  Never mind the fact that something ad dumb as this qualifies under the “You Can’t Fix Stupid” clause.

Because guns and alcohol only don’t mix if you’re a civilian.  Just the same it’s only civilians who can always hold their liquor.

SSCC #302–West Virginia

A former Pocahontas County sheriff’s deputy has been indicted for allegedly sexually abusing four children and one adult woman over a period of 10 years.

Yes it is just as bad as it sounds.

The indictment alleges Totten, a former sheriff’s deputy, forced four juvenile girls and one adult woman to have sex while in the line of duty. The adult was allegedly forced to have sex while incarcerated, the indictment says.

None of the victims are relatives or family members.  Even the police have bad eggs, yet they get a free pass to qualified immunity and laws that help restrain victims from fighting back.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 302: Bradley C. Totten

Because the law exists to protect the thugs who decide to commit their crimes while working for the state.  Their only request is you not get caught.
