SSCC #221 -Madison WI

A federal court has ordered the city of Madison to pay members of a gun-rights group $10,000 to settle a lawsuit.

Notice its the city paying for the officers screw up, not the officers responsible.  Also note the damage bill is so low the city isn’t going to even notice, doubly so since the city insurance will probably pick up the bill.

This case started prior to the Wisconsin concealed carry law when open carry was their only option since it was legal.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 221: John Doe

Because deprivation of rights is a administration problem, no need for the actual perpetrators to pay.

SSCC #220 – Texas State Patrol

A state trooper has been indicted on several sexual abuse charges involving a child, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed Thursday.

A cop and a child molester, will this judge worry about his safety

State Sponsored Criminal Count 220: Davie Crockett Davis

Because safety of the officer always comes before the safety of the public and law abiding.

SSCC #219 – Indy PD

A former Indianapolis police officer who set a string of apartment fires won’t serve time in jail.

The reason he’s not going to jail?

Judge Grant Hawkins expressed concern about Russell’s safety if he sentenced him to prison.

So remember, if you want to be a criminal, become a cop.  That way you can escape prison.  Not only that, but you can get your felony reduced after the fact.

If Russell successfully completes his probation he can come back to the court and ask for alternative misdemeanor sentencing.

Other than the anointed class, who else gets that kind of treatment?

State Sponsored Criminal Count 219: Jesse Russell Jr.

Because prison isn’t for bad police, it’s only for the the lowly peons.

SSCC #218 – Clarksburg WV

A man plowing snow for a church pastor claims a police chief violently and falsely arrested him, and that when he asked the chief to take it easy because he was disabled, the chief said, “Disabled my ass,” and kneed him in the back, dislocating four spinal probes.

No good deed goes unpunished, especially when a bored police chief has nothing better to do.  Have a disability not immeidately apparent,he doesn’t care and can risk spinal injury and beat the hell out of you.  Even if you’re not resisting arrest and have done nothing but try and help the public good.  Then you get stuck with the medical and legal bills while he keeps on treating the public like a group of children that he needs to beat on a regular basis.

Seriously go read the complaint, it’s down right despicable and the department should be bankrupted for the chiefs behavior and tolerating it.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 218: Chief Justin Burke Childers

Because the right thing to do when someone is helping clear snow in a blizzard is to beat the hell out of him while arresting him.  When they’re compliant and alert you of a medical condition you should call bull shit and work to aggravate that condition.

SSCC #205 – Wheeling

During the investigation, Adams interviewed several females who had prior relationships with Kotson. Every woman alleged Kotson had made persistent, aggressive sexual advances toward them on different occasions.

One of the females interviewed accused Kotson of holding her down and forcing her to engage in unconsensual sex on three separate occasions. On one of those occasions, she said, her juvenile daughter was present.

He supposedly never committed any of the crimes while on duty, however it is certainly possible that he was victim hunting while on the job.  This guy obviously has a history of issues and it’s hard to believe the department was completely unaware.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 205: Matthew Kotson
Because that’s how you protect and serve right?  Besides what they do off duty isn’t the responsibility of the department right.  Who really polices themselves?

SSCC #217 – Murfreesboro TN

A Murfreesboro police detective is accused of selling fake products to her own colleagues.

Counterfeit products are a big problem because they are attempting to use brand weight to pass off a inferior product.  Charging someone a higher value price for an inferior product is theft.  Why would you add a label to a product and the accompanying documentation in an attempt to pass them off unless you were trying to steal someone’s money buy using a fake product?

I have to agree with Wizards estimate that the dispatcher that reported it is probably going to be labeled a rat.  He also nailed the different types of responses for the same crime on the head.  It’s that disparity in the response that ensures this is a criminal count.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 217: Amy Dean

Because selling counterfeit products is only a problem if the distributor is not anointed.

SSCC #215 – Orange County FL

An Orange County Deputy was in jail Tuesday night after he was accused of molesting a disabled woman. The victim said she was scared for her life because Deputy William Martinez was in full uniform and armed with a gun at the time.

Another officer who not only found another victim while on the job, but used his position to intimidate the victim into compliance.  Given the fact that citizens have to just endure illegal searches and mistreatment by the police under protection of law it’s no wonder this type of behavior exists.

This man is a full count no matter his punishment short of death.  The department and the legal system acted to provide him the protections he needed to be invulnerable to his prey.  Are all cops like this?  No, but there are cops like this out there so why is the law protecting them while violating the citizenry.  While a cop has every right to go home at the end of his shift, the law abiding citizen has more of a right to remain unmolested and unventilated.

State Sponsored Criminal Count #215: William Martinez

Because the real reason for all those LEO protections is to make sure the criminals can hide in plain sight with impunity.

h/t Uncle on the reason article.

SSCC #209 – Manalapan NJ

Andrew J. Adell, 30, a six-year veteran of the Manalapan Police Department, admitted in court Monday that he was driving drunk on March 6 in his 2004 Jeep when he attempted to make a right turn onto South Street in Colts Neck before veering off the highway and colliding head-on with a 2003 Ford driven by Robert Felix, 40, of Keansburg, according to testimony offered to state Superior Court Judge Francis P. DeStefano.

How nice of them to just force him to resign his post instead of just firing his ass.  He admitted to being twice above the legal limit, and he even hit someone resulting in severe bodily harm.  The fact they didn’t fire him still allows him the ability to find a job some place else.  It appears that the assault by auto charge is a misdemeanor offense in New Jersey meaning he’s not hit by the costs that come with a felony.

He’s been given a second chance by his department by not just firing his ass and putting that black mark on his record.  How many non-leo civilians would get that type of second chance?

State Sponsored Criminal Count 209: Andrew J. Adell

Because when you are twice the legal limit and run over a pedestrian you shouldn’t be fired.  Instead you can resign to go work some place else.
