SSCC #484 – Wicomico County

Kendall Elmer West, 44, Salisbury was indicted by a Wicomico County grand jury this week for second-degree assault and fourth-degree sex offense — just days after he quit his job of 13 years.

According to court documents, West met the victim when she was 15-years-old through his position at Parkside High School.

Remember though folks, in response to a horrible tragedy people are not only screaming to ban guns, but throw more officers into the schools.  While not every officer is evil, it does increase the probability for a predator to end up among the sheep.

Federal prosecutors announced charges Thursday against four officers from a South Texas anti-drug task force who they say took thousands of dollars in bribes to guard large shipments of cocaine.

The officers — two from the Mission police department and two Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies — were members of the “Panama Unit,” which is a joint task force between the two agencies that targets drug trafficking, according to prosecutors. Mission’s police chief said one of the officers was actually part of a different task force, but a prosecutor’s office official didn’t immediately respond to an after-hours seeking clarification.

This isn’t the first time the enforcers in the “War on Drugs” were personally profiting off of it.  But remember, it’s necessary for our safety and protection.   Since prohibitions are wonderful things and all and don’t have any negative effects.  Yes, that last sentence was seeping with sarcasm, just to make sure I’m clear.

SSCC #479 – Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that, in a letter filed with the Civil Service Commission,Tonya Lynn Jones was called to an apartment complex on a suspicious person or vehicle report.  While there, Jones noticed used furniture in vacant apartments, the letter states.

Jones’ boyfriend was later arrested at the complex on suspicion of burglary. Police said they found furniture from the complex in Jones’ boyfriend’s apartment.

How nice of her to think of her boyfriend and his criminal career while she was busy with her job.

A retired Camden police sergeant from Moorestown was sentenced to eight months in federal prison Tuesday for his admitted role as the supervising officer of a corrupt anti-drug squad that stole cash, conducted illegal searches, planted drugs and falsified reports.

It’s been awhile since we’ve come back around to the origination that gave me the idea for this list.  For a quick history of this type of behavior:

Remember, these are the agents that were caught, there’s going to be a large group that are not caught. The TSA isn’t held responsible for lost and stolen items, they receive a free pass. There is no incentive for them to solve the problem other than bad PR.  But we have a new bad agent to add to the list:

TSA baggage screener Sean Henry, 32, was arrested on Tuesday after a sting operation conducted jointly by the TSA and the Port Authority Police Department caught Henry leaving the airport with two iPads that had been planted as part of the sting, as well as numerous other electronics devices he had allegedly stolen from passengers.

I applaud the officers who did the right thing, but the fact is the government has created a situation that foments this type of behavior.

A Berry Hill Police Officer has been arrested in Murfreesboro on five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor charges. The 56-year old was arrested on Friday afternoon. Originally when the story first aired, WGNS only told you about one charge of sexual exploitation, it was later confirmed that White faced five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor charges.

Often children are told to trust police officers to the point of unquestioned faith.  People forget that sometimes the most evil monsters find ways to hid in plain sight.

Sheriff Eaton and two deputies are also accused of using excessive force during an arrest in 2010, then falsifying documents and lying to the FBI about it.

Details are thin and sketchy.  Seriously that’s 1/5 of the article I found initially.  More information found elsewhere lends serious credibility to these allegations.  A fourth LEO involved in the investigation took a plea deal.  Of note though is the following count levied against Eaton:

According to count 12 in the newest indictment, Eaton allegedly assaulted Stinnett “by striking him in the area of his groin,” thereby depriving him of his right to be free from the use of unreasonable force by one acting under the color of law.

Again it comes back around to knowing how to control your monster.  The sheriff in this case seems to be the most egregious violator in this particular case.

Because while the common citizen is expected to restrain himself to just the force necessary to protect life and property, law enforcement has no such need for self control.

U.S. Deputy Marshal Lucio Osbaldo Moya is accused of showing a photocopy of the unidentified agent’s driver’s license to colleagues last fall and, upon learning it belonged to an undercover investigator, sending a warning text to his father, who has served prison time for various drug charges.

You would think that when the Marshals service did an investigation at hiring they would have noted the following the history of the father.  While not everyone is very close with their immediate family, it would have probably been prudent to conceal information that might be associate with is father in one form or another.
