SSCC #274,#275–Daytona

A woman attacked by a police K-9 dog while she was taking a cigarette break behind the restaurant where she worked could be getting a $100,000 settlement from the city.

Well, maybe there’s more to this story.  Maybe she was running away trying to escape the police.

Around that time, another officer radioed Oteri to let him know he had arrested the suspect on the Taco Bell property. Oteri decided to let the dog keep tracking because police were told the suspect had a gun earlier in the day, and he wanted to look for the firearm.

The dog kept pulling toward the Taco Bell, across Fentress Boulevard, onto the 7-Eleven convenience store property and then to Taco Bell. McCarthy was behind a 6-foot wall, the animal darted to the other side of the divider and attacked.

Nope, it was a completely innocent woman who was minding her own business that was attacked and permanently scarred by a lazy police officer.  I say lazy because who was too lazy to hold onto his dogs leash.  To top that off, the dog didn’t stop the attack immediately when instructed to do so.  The money quote is this though:

Police Chief Mike Chitwood said Oteri told him the day after the attack he was “sick” over what happened and could only apologize.

“He didn’t do anything malicious,” Chitwood said. “It was a mental lapse from someone I expected more from.”

No, there is more he could do.  He could take the dog out back like Ol’ Yeller and put her down.  If it was your dog or mine the state would be doing that for me.  Then I would be looking at a civil suit as well as a criminal suit for the fact it was a vicious animal.  Instead the dog and this officer live under qualified immunity.  Stuff like this happens not because it’s a freak accident but because no one is held accountable anymore in law enforcement.  The only person taking responsibility in this case is the tax payer.

A mental lapse resulted in a disfigurement of a woman, know what that’s negligence if I ever heard of it.  I don’t care he feels sorry for the woman.  Feeling sorry doesn’t fix what he did and that he’s responsible for.  Yet even though he’s responsible he will never actually be held accountable.

Because when you’re dog goes haywire and you work for the state everything is just hunky Jim Dandy.

SSCC #273–Louisburg

A Franklin County grand jury has indicted former Sheriff Pat Green on two counts of embezzlement, authorities said Tuesday.

Maybe it was just a misunderstanding?

Green is accused of taking $221,543 from the sheriff’s office between Nov. 20, 2007, and Jan. 30, 2011, according to the indictments. Of that money, $203,300 was earmarked for undercover drug buys. He is accused of taking the rest from the sheriff’s evidence room.

Yet another example of the war on nouns.  Tell me why do you need to earmark a quarter million for drug buys.  Why not just recover the cash after arresting the dealer?  Is this some sort of Fast and Furious type system where you attempt to track the money and don’t?  Is it because it’s not your money you don’t care about recovering it?  Seriously WTF!?

State Sponsored Criminal Count 274: Pat Green

Because how member of the state really see the war on nouns is nothing but a blank check with their name on it.

SSCC #272–San Antonio

There’s a lot of questions and issues with this.  The biggest is the immediate escalation of force without empathy or consideration.

A police officer allegedly punched a rape victim in the face as she cowered naked in a closet at her boyfriend’s home.

When she showed up at her boyfriends house he falsely accused her of breaking in for whatever reason.  When the police show up the fact she wasn’t willing to parade around naked for a bunch of men with guns after being raped is used as an excuse to beat her further.

The boyfriend was a total dick and the police were trying to remove a trespasser, however force I do not think was necessary in this case.  The officer was wanting an excuse to beat a woman and he found one.  Don’t think so?

At the hospital the officer was boasting about hitting Gibson, a nurse wrote in a report seen by KSAT 12 News.

State Sponsored Criminal Count #272: John Doe

Because being a cop means you just need an excuse to use force, doubly so if you like beating up on women.

A former Fort Dodge police officer accused of sexually assaulting a woman he met at a bar has pleaded guilty to extortion in a plea deal.

So as usual, commits crime, resigns from force, plea deal for a unrelated charge.  They dropped the sexual assault charge so he can go back to work as an LEO in a town near you.

Because when your only mistake is getting caught, well the state can help you with that problem.

SSCC #270–Pinellas

A Pinellas sheriff’s detective says that in an effort to seek out homegrown marijuana, he donned a Progress Energy uniform as a “ruse” and then entered a homeowner’s property without a search warrant.

Yeah, there is a reason when I someone from the utility company is at my house I consider it suspect.  If they want in my house, I’m calling the company and there is going to be a long talk as to why he’s at my house.  When said company says he’s not with them, I will assume criminal and things are going to be come quite dangerous for the idiot.  He has closed distance and is lying about who he is and is trying to gain entrance to your house.

So you would think that since the Sherriff supposedly frowns upon it there would be some sort of punishment, however this is the departments response:

Although Gualtieri criticized the tactic, he was less quick to criticize his detective. “He’s a young detective who I think thought he was just being creative,” Gualtieri said. “I put more responsibility with the supervision.” He said he wanted to think about whether to discipline anyone.

Yeah, and the guy from the utility isn’t a sworn law enforcement officer either. If you present yourself as X, you’re assumed to be X, and you are tricking people.  They will kick in your door in the middle of the night and shoot your dog.  They will fool you into allowing them access without a warrant.  Would you give an officer any access to your property without a warrant knowing them to be such?

Yeah, this was sneaky, back handed, and totally wrong.  We see how the cops love it, they may bitch publicly about it but honestly they don’t care.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 270: Detective Paul Giovannoni

Because it’s so much easier to just skip the warrant and pretend to be someone else and fool someone into giving you access.

SSCC #266:#269–New York

A Bronx prosecutor turned an innocent man’s life into a living hell for three years by plowing ahead with a case built on cops’ lies, a new lawsuit charges.

I have said my mantra about prosecutors many a time and I’ll say it again.  It takes a good prosecutor to convict a guilty man, it takes a GREAT prosecutor to convict an innocent one.  There is no correlation between the law and justice, don’t believe me?  What justice is there needed for a victimless crime?  Seriously, is it justice to punish someone because they are doing something that someone else disagrees with?

There is no winning a law suit, and this man has had his life ruined by a prosecutor who is protected by the state, and three cops who share the same protections.  I am not sure that his suit will be successful, however I have no doubt about the validity of his claim.  Further, they don’t have to find you guilty to ruin your and strip you of your rights.

SSCC #265 – Northumberland Co

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.

A Northumberland County deputy, sworn to protect the children that attend the local high school, is currently sitting in a jail cell accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a female student under his watch.

Yet another wolf hiding in plain sight.  The scariest thing is this is a district with an on going history of problems.

The arrest has shocked a community already reeling from last year’s arrest of 5th grade math teacher Christopher “C. J.” Richardson, who has been indicted for multiple felony and misdemeanor charges including indecent acts with a child, abuse of a child with disregard for life, purchase of alcohol for minor and distribution of marijuana to minors.

Not to mention it appears he committed the acts while on the school campus.  The state put the wolf in the pen with the sheep.

State Sponsored Criminal Count 265: Derek Jones

Because what better way to pick up little girls than to be the trusted police officer.

SSCC Honorable Mention–Bremerton WA

ROY ALLOWAY, 56, of Bremerton, Washington, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court in Tacoma to two years in prison and three years of supervised release for unlawful dealing in firearms and filing a false income tax return, announced U.S. Attorney Jenny A. Durkan.  ALLOWAY is a former Bremerton Police Officer, who for years was assigned to the West Puget Sound Narcotics Task Force.  ALLOWAY was warned twice in 2005 that his sales of guns at gun shows violated federal licensing rules.  Nevertheless, ALLOWAY continued to purchase and sell guns without a federal firearms license – including nearly 600 guns purchased from Bremerton and Tacoma gun shops, and another 169 firearms purchased from a Shelton source.  Much of the conduct occurred while he was an active police officer.  “It was a breach of trust,” said U.S. District Judge Ronald B. Leighton at sentencing. “It was not a technical violation; it was a total abdication of his responsibilities under the law.”

This wasn’t a technical glitch folks.  He actively circumvented the law and of course he was active in the war on nouns.  Seriously I want to continue but it is just infuriating considering what the state would have done had it been you or I.
