Know Why I Run the State Sponsored Criminal Count?

Via Uncle we have a perfect example of why I run the this thing.

The city police officer fired for a pattern of verbal abuse and making threats is trying to get his job back.

Patrolman Daniel Harless is proceeding with the arbitration process,
said Kristen Bates Aylward, an assistant city law director.

Yes that is the same Daniel Harless, Officer Roid Rage, that can be seen in the count at #7.  This man had a history of behaving like this and it was documented on video in at least three separate incidents.  Even with that behavior though he is attempting to be reinstated as a police officer.

Here’s what this whole roid-rage incident teaches the public.  This behavior is acceptable as long as it does not end up being distributed to the public.  Don’t believe me?  If OCC had not obtained a copy of the video and released it do you think anything would have happened to officer roid-rage?  He had two previously documented incidents and nothing happened.  There was a city councilman that attempted to come to his defense trying to justify his behavior.

His argument to the arbitrator is going to center around the fact that his dismissal was due to public pressure, not because he did anything wrong.  Think about that for a second.  The fact we found this piece of black toxic mold and shined a heavy UV light on him is a reason for him to remain.  For you see if it hadn’t been for that UV light he would have never been dismissed.  Never mind the following fact:

The incident was reviewed by an outside prosecutor who concluded
Harless’ actions weren’t serious enough to warrant criminal charges.

If you or I had done anything like that we would have gone to jail and spent a bunch of time in front of a judge.  If we escaped without jail time it would have been miraculous given the fact that we threatened and intimidated and individual, while armed.  The only difference between him and us is the fact that he is sponsored by the state.

Still think the majority of police departments want to weed out the bad eggs?  For the most part they’re forced into retaining them, because unless you do something really egregious, you’re just a state hired thug.

Came across this one tonight, read for the first time today.

AN ACT Relating to banning the sale of assault weapons; reenacting and amending RCW 9.41.010 and 9.94A.515; adding a new section to chapter 9.41 RCW; and prescribing penalties.

The bill in question is SB 5737.  Contact your state representatives, though I have also learned of another important tact.  Contact those in charge of the committees examining the bills.  If you can get the committee to kill the bill it’s better overall.

In this case it is the Law and Justice committee, and you should contact the following people:

My state rep informed us last night that bills are starting to lock down on whether or not they will actually be moving forward.  By the end of next week he said bills that haven’t even got through committee won’t be going anywhere. 

We’re in the home stretch.  Keep up the pressure, yes it’s tiring, exhausting, and honestly shouldn’t even have to be doing this fight.  Instead there’s a group of individuals who constantly insist on throwing us under the bus.

Via Tango I came across this wonderful study done by Harvard in 2007.  Lately I have reiterated more and more that our opponents are living in a serious state of denial and this is yet another nail in their coffin.

The money shot from the conclusion:

This Article has reviewed a significant amount of  evidence from a wide variety of international sources. Each individual portion of evidence is subject to cavil—at the very least the general objection that the persuasiveness of social scientific evidence cannot remotely approach the persuasiveness of conclusions in the physical sciences. Nevertheless, the burden of proof rests on the proponents of the more guns equal more death and fewer guns equal less death mantra, especially since they argue public policy ought to be based on that mantra.  To bear that burden would at the very least require showing that a large number of nations with more guns have more death and that nations that have imposed stringent gun controls have achieved substantial reductions in criminal violence (or suicide). But those correlations are not observed when a large number of nations are compared across the world.

(Emphasis mine.)  Even more entertaining though was this comment after that shot.

Over a decade ago, Professor Brandon Centerwall of the University of Washington undertook an extensive, statistically sophisticated study comparing areas in the United States and Canada to determine whether Canada’s more restrictive policies had better contained criminal violence. When he published his results it was with the admonition:

If you are surprised by [our] finding[s],  so [are we]. [We] did not begin this research with any intent to “exonerate” hand‐guns, but there it is—a negative finding, to be sure, but a negative finding is nevertheless a positive contribution. It directs us where not to aim public health resources.

Are you grinning yet?  If not you should be because remember this is coming out the liberal bastion of Harvard.  Not to mention the comment made about a study done by the University of Washington, another liberal bastion out of the Peoples’ Republic of Puget Sound.  Back to Harvard though, this is the same Harvard who said the following about the 4th of July in 2011.

 “Fourth of July celebrations in the United States shape the nation’s political landscape by forming beliefs and increasing participation, primarily in favor of the Republican Party,” said the report from Harvard.

Even 5 years ago Harvard saw the writing on the wall and indicated the burden of proof is on the anti-rights cultists.  Further often as of late we see the following across twitter from our opponents how gun ownership is at its lowest rate ever.  That guns are not being bought in record numbers, yet the facts clearly state otherwise.  Again, some of it comes right out of their own back yard such as this piece out of a New York CBS affiliate:

Statistics show a new trend — an increasing number of gun owners are now women.

For reasons ranging from sport to protection, the number of females buying guns has seen a spike in the last few years, CBS 2′s Ann Mercogliano reported.

Yet remember, gun ownership is at an all time low.

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is on pace to beat its own record of 1,114,700 firearms produced in one year, set in 2011. On August 15, 2012 Ruger produced its one millionth firearm of the year, a Ruger® SR1911™ pistol which will be hand-engraved by Baron Technology, Inc. and auctioned off to support the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action.

Yet remember, gun ownership is at an all time low.  Not to mention “fewer and fewer people are interested in owning firearms”.

So I have a question.  If ownership and interest is at an all time low, who pray-tell is buying all these firearms?  Where are all these firearms going.  I know the ATF bought bunches of them and were sending them over the border to Mexico, but that little hole has been plugged up for a while now.

Our opponents do not understand their logical fallacies.  They cannot grasp that just because there are fewer gun deaths they’re not actually safer.  They cannot comprehend that violence is violence no matter the tool.  The honestly believe that you’re safer with more crime as long as guns are used less often.

Denial is a stage of grief and honestly this abundance of Peterson Syndrome is a symptom of their grief.  They have lost and not just by a bit either.  We dropped a 105mm Howitzer in the middle of their happy parade and have exposed them for the evil bigots that they are.  The worst part about those evil bigots though is they prey upon the fact that many people honestly want to do good and help people.  They then spread their lies, misinformation, and logical fallacies corrupting good people.

Honestly though, I wouldn’t mind if a majority of our opponents forever remained in the first stage.  If they do progress I want them to rapidly progress to bargaining and skipping over anger.  Given their propensity towards violence, especially when on the losing side, it would be a very bad and dangerous thing.  Doubly so if they started trying to engineer failure in an attempt to “aid” their cause.

Denial, it’s not just a river in Egypt.  It is the current home of our opponents and will remain so for the foreseeable future.  I can live with that.

Via Ry comes this try out for the IMPD.

State patrol troopers got quite a shock Sunday when the reckless driver they were chasing turned out to be one of their own.

This wasn’t a simple case of weaving and getting pulled over though.

Investigators say Berthofl was driving near Tacoma on Sunday afternoon when he side-swiped a car that had slowed for a traffic jam.

Witnesses say Bertholf went around into the median. They followed him until troopers closed in. Despite the lights and sirens, troopers say Bertholf didn’t stop. When he finally did pull over, the troopers were shocked to learn he was a co-worker.

It gets worse because he an decorated officer specifically for his efforts in stopping drunk driving.  I was glad to see this:

But with Sunday’s arrest, WSP officials say it’s possible his law enforcement career is over.

"There’s a high likelihood," Huss said. "It’s very difficult for somebody, rightfully so, to fulfill a position in law enforcement when you have these types of serious allegations in place."

If he’s convicted and fired I’ll be more than willing to toss this into the accountabilibuddyable pile.  If he escapes firing I wouldn’t be surprised if he pays a call to the IMPD with his impressive service record against drunk driving.

A state trooper has been indicted on several sexual abuse charges involving a child, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed Thursday.

A cop and a child molester, will this judge worry about his safety?

In a news release Tuesday, Logan County District Attorney Tommy Lee says while on duty as a trooper, Venable pulled over a woman on the Broadway Extension in Oklahoma City. Lee says Venable took the woman into custody for driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He’s accused of then transporting her to a residence in Guthrie where he had sex with her.

While on duty he made an arrest.  Then he proceeded to use his position over the woman to satisfy his own urges.  Ignore the statement that he is a “former” officer because he resigned as opposed to actually being dismissed by the OSP as punishment.  This is by no means the first issue with OSP either, not even the first of a sexual nature.

Arganbright has been under investigation for professional misconduct by the Internal Affairs Division of the state Department of Public Safety. Among the allegations against him, are that he used his patrol car for romantic rendezvous with a 16-year-old girl and sent text messages to her, asking her run away with him, authorities said.

A cop having relations with a minor, at least in this case the OSP actually fired him.  Not to mention he was also tagged with violating a protection order and embezzlement.  The most famous incident of late though happens to be the following:

This incident though from 2009 shows the depth of the problem considering the officer at question was reinstated shortly there after.  There is a history of the OSP looking the other way when it’s officers step out of line.

Because since the girl was drunk it’s all her fault since the officer was on duty, right? 

Because pedophiles could never possibly work for the government, and most definitely wouldn’t use their authority to abuse their victims, right?

Because the cop and his authoritah is considerably more important than the woman having a heart attack in the back of the ambulance.

Time and time again I am hearing about TSA agents stealing from airline passengers.  They’ve been caught stealing cash, electronics, organizing thefts with their coworkers, and some have even busted for child pornography.  Now with the addition of the “Fast and Furious Scandal” we are finding that the government knowingly gave felons a clear background check even though they should have been stopped.  Our government provided arms to disqualified purchasers.  Given all of this information when I received an email today of yet another incident with the TSA I felt it was time to create something similar to the Dead Goblin Count. 

The rules are simple:

  1. The person worked for the government, IE: TSA, DHS, FBI, BATFE, or any other part of the government, local, state or federal.
  2. The person committed the crime while on duty, or his job provided access to commit the crime under color of law (see the pedophile above).
  3. High level incidents such as the “Fast and Furious” incidents count.  Individual incidents involved in the same program can be counted separately.
  4. Must have accompanying documentation with the submission.

To submit incidents, please use this form.  You can also recommend any additions or changes to the rules, I may or may not accept them.  Even if you don’t think it will fully meet the requirements above, most likely disqualifying factor is rule #2, send it anyway it will at least get an honorable mention. 

So here’s the first entry in the list goes to the one that finally pushed me to actually do it.

A Transportation Security Administration officer has been accused of stealing $22,000 worth of watches from passengers’ luggage at Los Angeles International Airport.

It’s good to know that the TSA agent was so busy stealing jewelry there is no way anything else could have slipped past him.  Yet another example of A Security Theater.  He joins the list of previously uncounted TSA agents stealing from passengers.

Thank god the TSA is here to protect us, who else would rifle through our luggage, sniffing our underwear and stealing jewelry.

State Department Changing Passport Applications

Normally I wouldn’t care, however this for some reason has just rubbed something the wrong way. 

“The words in the old form were ‘mother’ and ‘father,’” said Brenda Sprague, deputy assistant Secretary of State for Passport Services. “They are now ‘parent one’ and ‘parent two.’”

I initially didn’t think much other than, “The economy is in the tank and they have nothing better to do.”  Then I talked to my mom and she pointed out something that I hadn’t considered. You are now placing numbers on individuals, number 1 and number 2, primary and secondary.  You now will be placing an importance on which parent is more significant.  As my mother said, “Most of the time the father will always come first.”  From the continuing conversation she felt it a slight towards women in the home and belittling them into second place.  While some families may have an environment which supports such a description, most do not, furthermore many will feel slighted by it.  Note my mom made that statement as one of her first complaints when I informed her of it, she made that connection in her mind with very little effort.

This is by no means the end of the world, but I do dislike it because it is the further infection of political correctness for the sake of political correctness,  much like rewriting Tom Sawyer.

Update: Side comment from “The Short Lady With the Grey Hair”: If anyone asks about your mother’s feminist standing, you can state that you were raised in a traditional two parent home with each parent holding the traditional roles. She does support many of the actions of feminism but resents the actions of any group that attempts to neutralize the roles that others play in society or the home. Feminists or homosexuals or transexualts or religious nuts. There are too many more important things to be worrying about. Wake up and smell both the coffee and the roses.
