Came across this one tonight, read for the first time today.
AN ACT Relating to banning the sale of assault weapons; reenacting and amending RCW 9.41.010 and 9.94A.515; adding a new section to chapter 9.41 RCW; and prescribing penalties.
The bill in question is SB 5737. Contact your state representatives, though I have also learned of another important tact. Contact those in charge of the committees examining the bills. If you can get the committee to kill the bill it’s better overall.
In this case it is the Law and Justice committee, and you should contact the following people:
My state rep informed us last night that bills are starting to lock down on whether or not they will actually be moving forward. By the end of next week he said bills that haven’t even got through committee won’t be going anywhere.
We’re in the home stretch. Keep up the pressure, yes it’s tiring, exhausting, and honestly shouldn’t even have to be doing this fight. Instead there’s a group of individuals who constantly insist on throwing us under the bus.
TMM is the owner, editor, and principal author at The Minuteman, a competitive shooter, and staff member for Boomershoot. Even in his free time he’s merging his love and knowledge of computers and technology with his love of firearms.
Many know his private name and information however due to the current political climate, many are distancing themselves due to the abandonment of Due Process.
Thanks for hanging in there…
Wow. That’s a pretty big chunk of suckage. I’m pretty sure it won’t pass, but it’s big and ugly enough that there are a bunch of things I can tell them as to WHY it’s a bad bill. (“bad wrist – pistol grip is an ADA compliance issue!”) It even would classify a pump action rifle like the http://www.remingtonle.com/rifles/7615.htm as an AW. In the name of all that’s fuzzy, it even goes after muzzle breaks and barrel shrouds, because they didn’t get their arse handed to them well enough last time!…
Time to heat of the branding irons, and *politely* send those elected reps an iD10T letter.
I believe it is our responsibility as we the people, to recall those who sign their name in support of this bill. they have neglected their oath of office.
